sid, is there many accomodation options in Frimley Green? But I suppose it wouldn’t be right to not stay in the Lakeside if possible.
Crucial, crucial leg here at 2-2 in set 4.
Huge leg now to decide set 4. Alan with two legs in a row after losing the previous 5 in succession. A nice 112 check out in there too.
Some time tonight lads please…
This is the Lakeside stage.
Incredible drama.
That’s the pressure of Lakeside summed up in a nutshell. Incredible tension and drama as Wesley levels it at 2-2.
Ah no God please no
Missed doubles all over the shop here. The pressure of the Lakeside gets to everyone but Sparky finally gets it to level it up.
Good finish in store here.
Hopefully this link will provide a guide as regards accommodation options, bearing in mind that most accommodation in the area will already be sold out for the coming days.
As regards tickets for the darts itself, I believe Lakeside sell the last four days of the tournament exclusively as a package so as to keep the tickets for the real darts fans as opposed to day trippers. Sessions for the days before that are sold on an individual day basis. I certainly agree that for the full Lakeside experience it’s best to stay at the home of darts, however, there are extensive public transport connections to London with late night train services back to Waterloo, the last one at 00:47 from nearby (2km) Farnborough.
Four 100s in a row for Alan there. That’s the very definition of solid darts.
Great composure by Alan to hit that last treble for a 140 after he dropped a dart.
We’re going all the way yet again - yet another Lakeside classic between these two great friends
Alan levels it up at 3 sets apiece. The tension is palpable, as is the camaraderie.
Brilliant 11-darter by Wesley against the throw.
Wesley’s girlfriend is a tremendously elegant lady. A real touch of Dutch class.
“Friends and family can barely look”, as Jim Proudfoot so rightly says.
Both players getting the very best of order in this hugely tense situation.
Alan breaks back!
Wesley breaks again with a 13-darter. Throwing for the match!
Wesley breaks back again and throws for the match!
Wesley wins! What a match!
Cracking comeback by Wesley. In hindsight, the deciding leg of set 4 was absolutely pivotal. The difference between going in level and 3-1 down was 2 sets, as Ray Stubbs so rightly said.
