Waterford should be further ahead here, they’ve shot a lot of bad wides.
Clare are being beaten up by bigger boys.
CE don’t look anywhere approaching dangerous close to WD goal, in the rare occasion they get close to goal.
WD look like they score a goal anytime the ball is pucked in on top of the CE backs.
Clare giving away very soft frees too. Davy will no doubt take the paint off the walks at half with his roaring, he would be better off trying to sort out his midfield and full back.
It’s men against wildly over rated boys here. Ref is keeping clare in it conlon is the only forward who looks like an inter county hurler the rest are lost kids.

Clare being taken to school a bit here. A 20 year old full back and a teenager in the corner is going to make for a full back line that will make mistakes. Clare look a bit unsure, they might settle in a bit more in the second half.

Clare are suffering due to following the negative tactics of their manager. 3 short line balls that were intercepted led to Wd scores. Short puckout’s being easily read. Too much short passing as opposed to letting it into their full forward line early to expose Wd’s real weakness, full back Lawlor.
In saying all of the above, Waterford are by far the hungrier team and are forcing all the mistakes from Clare. Whether they will be able to keep this pace up is the real worry for them. You would have to feel Clare for all their mistakes will still be the fitter team.

I’ve said it before but he is an awful ref. I don’t know how he managed to get the gig for the final replay last year.
They should have played it in a venue more suited to the interest levels - ie Ennis or Waterford.
Agreed. The place must be devoid of real atmosphere. Terrible attendance considering its such a big game for both of them.

To be fair attendances are down everywhere. The double header with the Dubs at Croke Park last night only attracted 33k.
