Yeah that skip and jump thing is exactly what Iâm talking about. Itâs abysmal technique and means he telegraphs his changes of direction and invariably runs the ball straight into a barely mobile prop. He can still evade a tackle straight after the kick but once he gets running heâs terrible and I donât know anybody has ever even tried to coach him otherwise.

I was complaining about the general lack of skills of Irish rugby players here a few months ago and they have been worse since. Fitzgerald had a kick sit up for him on the bounce and all he had to do was catch it and he was probably scoring. He dropped it and Ward said it was "difficult. " It was difficult maybe for a teenager playing third string underage rugby. It was at best a poor effort from an international player. It would have been laughed at in NZ Iâm sure.[/quote]
Thing Is Ricko we are just at a genetic disadvantage in rugby terms. If we concentrate on skills while developing the nest young players we tend ti lose out physically and visa versatile. All the major countries playing the game have big advantages. NZ can completely concentrate in skills till very late due to their natural physical advantages. It means they can always pick the mist skillful Players. They play a speed and power game that suits them. SA are the same in the way they produce big players ad a certain amount of speed. They also donât move too much from their plan.
France and England have massive numbers but by the same tOken they have had their best results when sticking to why they are traditionally good at.
We fly by the seat of our pants. Itâs whoever we have that dictates the way we play. Also who the manager is. We have very little continuity which makes it very hard to be consistent in an area really.

what about Wales?..always written off pre tournament and then go and win the whole thingâŚhow many times have they done this now?..always have excellent players⌠and i´m not just talking about at the breakdown or crash ball or going through the phases or Paris in the springâŚall the shit talk about ireland for last decade, the Welsh have been more successfulâŚand the only difference genetically is their orange skinâŚ
the Welsh have won 3 grand slams and damn near reached a world cup final during our golden generation era. They wouldnt even register on a golden generation scale in wales!
I think some of our bring on the green merchants look down on wales cos our teams are better in the heineken cup
