2014 All Ireland Under 21 Championship
Your dealing with a far better and more organized GAA county with much more passion to win in Tipp though. They have more scope for success. You can see the dumb in-fighting Laois were at a mile away. None of that in Tipp.

That’s a very good Cork team, 5-6 lads in with a real good chance of stepping up to Senior, and another few outside chances.

I’m taken aback by Alan Cadogans progression, startling improvement.
Possibly more than that, there are already 7 or so that have been given a crack by the seniors this year. I’d expect Maguire to be called up sooner rather than later as well.

Ya I only saw him in Sigerson and that game against Kerry 21’s last year, but he’s grown a pile, he’s always had decent skill but hadn’t grown into his size. Cork badly need midfielder competition, although Gould has really impressed me this year. Walsh’s injuries and lack of game time is a concern. And while AOS looked good last week Kerry are the least mobile of the better teams.
The best thing about the 21’s is Kevin O Sullivan and Dorman as it’s backs are needed.

Good time to be a Cork U-21 alright, you could see maybe a third of that panel involved with the footballers one way or the other eventually.

Are minor titles more indicative of future success at senior level than u-21?

By the time u-21 comes around a lot of players eligible at that grade are established at senior level which is much more of a priority.

Hard to tell, but I would suggest U-21 and colleges competitions are more important considering the amount of lads that fall by the wayside, or change code, between U-18 and U-21. At Minor you have more lads playing that will quit, or go to shit, or change sports.

Recent history suggests 21’s is where it is at. Sigerson is also a big help, but not absolutely needed for success, just speeds development.

also depends on the policy of the county …at minor some counties prefer to put out the 15 best footballers or hurlers, others prefer to put out the 15 biggest… I’d say with all he S&C being done, the U-21 is a better indicator as lads seem to be able to make the physical step up to senior from U-21 far easier nowadays while there is not as many minors coming through straight away…

Roscommon 0-01 Cork 0-00 after 25 seconds.

Roscommon will have a tough job to hang onto that advantage for the remaining 59 and half minutes.

0-02 each after 5 minutes.

I’d like to see a Roscommon vs Cavan final

Roscommon need to tighten up at the back. They’ve already conceded more points than they did in the whole of the Connacht final.

0-4 each after 10:40

Decent game so far, fairly open and both forward lines look like causing damage.

0-06 to 0-04 in favour of the sheep stealers after 14:52.

Roscommon on fire.

0-08 to 0-04.

0-8 to 0-4 to Ros after 17:04

Cracking score from the wing back, outside of the boot.

0-09 to 0-04 after 19:08.

10 points up for Ros in just over 20 minutes

Cork look shit.

Cork have under estimated Rosscommon and their work rate is pityful in comparision. Conor Dorman is playing brain dead football, completely AWOL from full back, his position, an carrying the ball into :-4 tacklers every time.

Corks running game being badly exposed here, naive is being nice.

Roscommon should be a couple of more points ahead.

Cork just whipped off a midfielder and a half forward, being beaten all over. Cadogan has not got a sniff.
