Who could possibly have foreseen that Tipperary’s 2011 minor title wouldn’t translate to success at higher levels.

what you mean?

at least they have an Ireland minor title. for all Dublin hurlers provincial successes at minor and under 21 ( must be 8 or so titles between both) , one provincial senior title isn’t a huge haul at senior level arising from it to date. success at senior level can take a while to come!

It could take a very long time for Tipperary footballers.

They won an under 21 munster football title a few years back v Kerry in Tralee and were robbed of another by a late goal. Tipp football is not based on one super minor side. With the poor sides Kerry have been producing at minor and under 21 teams it is not that inconceivable that they could win a munster senior title in an open draw competition in the next 5 - 7 years??

Limerick came so so close to winning one off one super under 21 team

I will bow to Carryharry’s views on this matter though

Harry?

Exhibit A: Laois

They won a provincial senior title. Tipp would be delighted with one of them in football!

Not likely to be honest, but not impossible.

A small few of that All Ireland winning minor team were instrumental in Tipp gaining Division 3 status this year though. Keeping the bunch together is always tough if lads are good Hurlers too.

Your dealing with a far better and more organized GAA county with much more passion to win in Tipp though. They have more scope for success. You can see the dumb in-fighting Laois were at a mile away. None of that in Tipp.

That’s a very good Cork team, 5-6 lads in with a real good chance of stepping up to Senior, and another few outside chances.

I’m taken aback by Alan Cadogans progression, startling improvement.

Saw him play minor three years ago versus us in the Munster championship and he looked very poor. Really developed in the meantime by the looks of it and looks like an excellent addition for the Cork senior hurlers.

You can take minor titles to the bank.

So you can.

A Rossies v Cavan final would be the dream. Can you imagine how nuts those crazy fuckers would go?

I think physical development has made a huge difference, mostly to his confidence.
You must remember that Cork Minir hurling team was run by an idiot.

I’m reading between the lines here and can clearly see what you are getting at re this lads improvement Kev. Say no more.

:D:D:D
His brother is doing the same degree as me, you are on the ball.

But seriously I think the confidence, however it was attained is the key.

Roscommon haven’t done much at senior level despite winning a string of underage titles since 2006.

He was probably close to our best hurler that day, which tells you just how poor that Minor team was.
