2014 Club Championships

Yes, all hell broke loose afterwards as it did a few weeks later again when Clara met Camross in the Leinster Club Championship.

Clara and the Shramrocks did not like each other very much back in the mid to late 80’s and it didn’t lend itself to the most harmonious of Kilkenny dressing rooms either.

No. That was Clara v Camross in Athy in subsequent Leinster championship

There was afters, after that 1986 County Final as well though. Not to the same extent as the Battle of Athy, but nothing could match that.

You might have beaten those Clara lads on the pitch but no way you’d take them in any “afters”.

No chance. That many Ryans on the same side, fuggeddaboutit.

The Camross v Clara, Battle of Athy is one of the landmark sporting events, which I can actually say, I was there.
Not entirely sure about the Junior but I think the Bridge might be slight favourites.

The Vegas are definitely favourites for the intermediate and have been all year afaik.
Was talking to JP last night @Piles Hussain down at the jazz. Had to laugh at him when he said that Glenmore are now down junior. Ffs! Another 2/3 years for the 'Lockes in the third tier for sure. Have to build around the lads who have played county at minor & u21 over the past few years and hope to be up in around 4 yrs or so.

Yeah, we’ll be down there a while by all accounts :frowning:

Hon The Willies

Fuckes Sakes mate, no one gives a shit. People would rather talk about junior B hurling in KK than that shit.

Eh, it’s called Special Junior chief.

I thought they changed that a few years ago? Dumbest name ever, special juniors.

I thought he was joking. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Specials lads, the Specials.
The greatest hurling grade in the history of the game, where boys became men, men became old and dangerous, and the old and dangerous ones only purpose was to put manners on the young fast lads.
A virtuous/vicious circle of hurling life.

I’m getting misty just thinking about it :frowning:

I give a shit you horrible cunt.

They did change it but it will always be Special Junior to some (most actually)…

They used to call it “novice” in Limerick.

It’s novice in Kerry too.
