heâs a very good, effective inter county full forward
He is incapable of kicking the ball, making him an hilariously poor âfootballerâ. That he is an effective intercounty full forward says far more about where gaelic football is right now.
Could be, and/or playing too much he had a similar career to Colm O Neill and Ciaran Sheehan. Too much too young.
Shame for him.

Brilliant
Your ignorance is your best attribute.
The fact that you donât realise what just happened makes it even more amusing.
Iâm afraid itâs you who doesnât see it. Whatâs funny is when someone shows they are nowhere near as smart as they believe themselves to be. But carry on.
Amen brother. Amen.
Iâve been a huge critic of OâConnor since he came into the team, and youâre right, for quite a while he was very limited in what he could do once he won the ball. But in fairness to him, he seems to have improved a great deal in the last 12 months, his skill levels, distribution and decision making have all improved and he now justifies the gameplan being based around him.
The loss last night was really indicative of the malaise and sense of reaching a plateau in Kildare football for the last 3 years. Chances not taken, incredible lapses of concentration and weak centre when defending were all in evidence last night. Iâm not saying that weâre better than Dublin, but we donât even give ourselves a fighting chance.
On the plus side, I donât ever remember seeing a Kildare forward as naturally gifted as Paddy Brophy, heâll be a star, he seems to win every ball thatâs kicked his way. Mulhall was very good last night too, but heâll have to maintain a very high level of play to make a Championship 15 with many coming back from injury. The achilles heel of the team remains the lack of a good centre half back. Conway may yet be the solution but he is still raw. The drop in form of McGrillen in the last few weeks is concerning too, as he is always the most consistent player on the team.
Am I correct in saying heâs young enough despite his receding hairline? Maybe 25 or so? The Setanta commentator was referring to him as âthe veteran Hughie McGrillenâ.
Yeah heâs 26, heâs been bald since he was an U-21. Heâd be a veteran in the sense that heâs been around the squad longer than most.

He is arguably the in form forward in the country so far, along with O Donoghue and McManaman. Kicks with beautiful ease.
You are also right about O Connor, youâd have to wonder wht some lads are looking for, heâs as effective if not more than Donaghy was when he first came. If he wore green and gold lads would be saying itâs a throw back to the bomber days. He is doing a fine job, as you mention itâs elsewhere Kildare are let down.

A lad who canât solo the ball got footballer of the year last year, so all is not lost for OâConnor
Pure class. If he stays in this form and with David Moran a huge addition, we might see Kerry in the last 4 yet

Any opinion on his persona mate ?
True, but once more, a sad indictment of the game of football.
However as long as we have James O Donoghueâs thereâs hope.

No matter how much you want to be, you are not from Kerry.
Youâd know alright
Are you Billy Sheehan, mate?
