A fucking disgraceful performance that puts our future in the competition in jeopardy. Prandelli got his tactics and selections wrong, the team should have been freshened up and they looked dead on their feet in that second half, telegraphed balls and a slow and laboured build. Utterly pathetic display and a style of football you’d expect to see from Spain. Lorenzo Insigne should retire from international football after that gutless appearance, a national disgrace.

Balotelli didn’t try a leg up front, this was a game that would really have suited Destro as his movement would have dragged the Costa Rica defence around a bit but Prandelli opted for Insigne over him and Rossi. I don’t fancy our chances of a result against Uruguay.

A 0-0 draw will be sufficient to for Italy to qualify. Uruguay are brittle in midfield and suspect at the back.

If Italy go out and play football, they’ll win. If they try sit back they’ll get a dose of Luis and be on the plane.

Edit - A score draw will also do, of course.

Agreed, the worst thing Italy could do is play for the draw against Suarez and Cavani(but especially Suarez). Not sure if I trust Prandelli not to
