2015/16 Serie A Season

Great game.

Donadoni has worked wonders since taking over Bologna, they have some very good players there and have a bit of money to spend too.

Higuain is some man leading the charge for Napoli.

2 fantastic striker performances. Great watch.

Napoli had enough chances to draw that game. Destro is special though. It’s the first time this season the defence hasn’t looked up to it.

+1

Hopefully Destro can keep this form up and push his way into Conte’s plans. I don’t have faith in Pelle or Eder leading the line next summer, unfortunately the best Italian strikers at the minute seem to be struggling for game time. Immobile needs to get a move back to Serie A in the next transfer window as well.

Normally really solid but they struggled all over with the tempo of the Bologna. Destro didn’t give them a moments peace all day.

I’ve got great respect for Donadoni, he’s done very well with the likes of Livorno, Cagliari, Parma and now Bologna.

Inter looking uncharacteristically shaky defensively here against Udinese. Very lucky to be 2-0 up. 2 gifts from the opposing centre half

They have poxed their way to the top all season.

Wouldn’t watch too much Serie A but Icardi seems to be a very clever footballer

Been out of form this season, a natural goalscorer but has a bit of a questionable attitude. His movement is top class and he’s a deadly finisher but he can be a lot more if puts the work in.

Massive game tomorrow afternoon between Naples finest and an out of sorts Roma. How Napoli react to their first real setback in Bologna last weekend will tell us a lot about the character and mindset of the squad. Sarri has demanded a better performance from Higuain this weekend, a little harsh considering his two goals last time out.

Roma missing the guile and natural leadership of Totti at the moment. Dzeko had a game to forget last weekend. Gervinho coming back is a boost for Garcia. They’re still very dangerous but hoping Napoli have enough about them to take maximum points.

Gervinho and Salah back, Roma definitely look a different team with these two in the team and their pace on the break. I’m expecting goals today. Roma in horrendous form and conceding goals all over the place, should we lose today then I think Garcia will be replaced over the Christmas break.

Juve and Fiorentina on later as well.

1-1 in Turin.

Fiorentina playing very well, Sousa is doing some job there.

After a slow start at Bologna where he failed to net in his first 10 games, Destro has really come to life for Bologna with 5 in his last 6. If he keeps this form up then it will be hard for Conte to ignore him, when fit and on form he’s our best striking option.

if he makes it, he will lead the oirish on a merry dance

Sabatini and Garcia’s biggest mistake was getting rid of Destro. I would be very confident he’ll have more Serie A goals that any Roma player at the season end, just like he did last season and the season before that.

Selling Ljajic was a huge mistake too, he was our best player last season.

Brilliant season so far.

Inter’s defeat tonight mean that they still finish top over the Christmas break but they are now just 1 clear at the top and only 4 points separate the top 5

Inter 36
Fiorentina 35
Napoli 35
Juve 33
Roma 32
Milan 28

Higuain hit another two today making it 16 goals so far this season in 17 appearances, only Luca Toni has surpassed the 30 goal barrier in Serie A in a season over the past 70 years when he bagged 31 in the 05/06 campaign. Higuain is well on course to equal or surpass that record, he has been in sensational form.

Return to action tonight with the Genoa derby which is just about to get underway.

This will be a cracker, starting on BT Sports Europe and Setanta now.

Jim Beglin on commentary duty.

Think Genoa will win this one, that’s an iffy looking Samp defence.

What an atmosphere. Play stopped due to smoke from flares.

Pavoletti about just an inch wide with a header from a corner.
