I saw games 10 years ago that were far superior to what i have seen this year.
I’d say your reasoning is as follows.
You were at a couple of games 10 years ago. Cork won the league that year but won’t win it this year. Ergo the standard was higher 10 years ago.
Anyways back to the perceived injustice of the qualifiers to Ulster teams. 
No its that the same bloody players are the leading players for city, 10 years older. City have a couple of MSL standard players getting regular game time and are 2nd best team.
Dundalk stand alone in terms of real quality.
