2015 All Ireland Football Championship - FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT STOP

You are dumb, you started off by saying he was forced and then a few words later admit he decided. When you have no other options there is no decision to make. Your admission that he made a decision proves it was not forced.

Kerry’s opposition kick out strategy is second to none. Go short they’ll force you to an area they want you to go. Go long and Moran and Maher will pluck em out of the sky. And now if you dink to the half back line they have a half forward line of fielders. If love to see that gombeen Morgan get mugged off like Durcan.

Morgan is the best keeper in the game right now and your obsession with him is bizarre.

Niall Morgan for the win.

you must have awful nightmares about goalkeepers. I cant say I’ve ever known anyone to hate keepers as much as yourself! I know @count_of_monte_crist has questioned you on this before too!

He’s a buffoon who cracks under pressure.

He’s also a goalie.

You’ve a bizarre hatred of him. He’s top class and has everything in his game.

Is he the lad that melted down against Donegal last year?

Ah they’re gas articles though. The carry on of Morgan is worse than most though.

Can’t be sure given the amount he’s had now. A free taker, fucking hell

true. it’s one thing playing to the crowd and reacting to the goading on the terraces, but you need to be able to bring it when it counts otherwise you look like a fucking tool. And thats what Morgan looked like. Either play your game, and get away with it, but if you are going to play the character with the crowd, you better be damn sure you back it up on the field.

He mugged himself and his cheerleader Joe Brolly off good and proper in that Donegal game.

Re the Geaney goal. He still had plenty to do. Had to win the dropping ball in front of McGee, swivel and ADVERTENTLY shoot across goal into the far corner. Weeshie Fogarty spoke about the tactic recently of pulling Donaghy out and leaving Geaney inside to exploit the situation.

Was it not McGrath? Thought it was. It was a class finish from Geaney.

No, incorrect. The only option wasn’t to roll the ball to the full forward.

It’s not a novel tactic to drop players back into the normal kick/puck out landing zone. The keeper can still kick/puck it out long or short. What they’re never forced to do is tap it to the full forward thus allowing him to jog in a few yards and tip the ball past him. It was a preposterous unforced mistake by Durcan.

You’re right - it was McGrath.

they probably havent had to make a save what with all the deep defending, and any goals scored are from close range with little or no chance to save. I think the keepers role has changed massively in the past 10 years, and you now need someone who can be a sweeper, able to pick out a player with a kick out, and to generally control the full back line and defenders. The actual skill in saving is probably a bit down the list anymore. If you can get an excellent shot stopper and actual keeper, and mould him into a player and passer, then you have an ideal template. Was probably why John O Leary was ahead of his time and the best there was in the 80’s on as he played outfield for his club so had that experience.

Keepers are no longer primarily required for shotstopping anymore. It’s a bonus these days. Accurate kicking is the name of the game.

I always had Cluxton and then daylight. But Morgan’s kickouts and Tyrones subsequent ball retention are what beat us. Morgan gave a masterclass.
