Dublin hurlers have played a few championship matches in Parnell Park over the years. Don’t recall the footballers playing a championship game there any time within living memory?
It’s all about context, Brolly and his colleagues on RTE like to throw everything into black and white categories. Dublin are holier than thou, purveyors of wonderful football with not a cynical bone in their body. On the other hand you have the Ulster sides who are destroying football with their cynicism.
There’s a whole load of grey in between that and RTE’s coverage and imbalanced reporting is bordering on disgraceful at the minute.

No but I do think you need stop taking that bitterness out on Dublin. The only reason why the commentators make dublin sound whiter than white is because of the brand of football they play. If they played a less attractive brand I’m sure that the commentators wouldn’t be as forgiving.
All about the money now, but if the other counties in Leinster football are made to feel like deco d class citizens, they will lose interest and there will be no money to worry about intl the future.
The financial consideration is important, but the GAA. Is a sporting organisation before it is a financial organisation.
The next step in this farce of a setup with Dublin is to establish a tier 1 Leinster championship which consists only of Dublin
It is not an anti Dublin thing, it’s a fairness thing. No team in any sport gets to play all their games at home, GAA football should not be an exception.
I don’t think it’s bitterness to make a balanced viewpoint about Dublin when the portrayal of them by the media is unfair.
Yes, they play an attacking brand of football. If any team should be able to do that though it would be the team who has all the excessive advantages over the rest of their competitors in terms or final resources, population, location and playing all their Championship games at home. This rarely gets highlighted or brought into contention in the media and is quite coldly dealt with by the Dubs themselves.

Money is a big consideration. So is giving the lesser counties a chance to play in Croke park, when god knows that chance will come around again.

Yes they would for championship games and that’s just dublin on their own not including the supporters from the other counties or any neutrals that may tag along.

Yep but that’s because its the same old same old. An away game would be something new, you would get folks making a day or weekend of it and it would be interesting to see if these other counties would make a better effort than they do in Croke park.
