Ryan Jones deserves one.
Corrigan surely too. Won’t get them mind
Predictions for the draw tomorrow
Derry v Galway
Tipp v Tyrone
Edit: Next round is the neutral venues.
Evans and McGeeney looking like right spoofers.
Well done Galway, brilliant result for them. Kevin Walsh seems a thoroughly alright sort too. Up your hole O’Hara.
Great stuff out of Fermanagh too. The celebrations of the twelfth up there probably put to shame when the full time whistle went in Brewster Park.
Celebrations don’t really kick off until tomorrow because all good pradasince observe the Sabbath. They’ll all be converging on Bundoran tonight anyway.
Next round is not neutral. Fermanagh were at home, and Longford chose to move the game to Mullingar.
As an aside, does anyone know if they’re doing the 4A draw tomorrow too or will they leave it till after the Munster Final Replay?
I was making reference to round 4B. I had initially posted neutral venues for the 3B games before realising it’s 4B that is neutral.
I hope Tyrone can avoid Derry.
Forgot to do a “Just back from Mullingar” post last night. Kildare played very well, but Longford were absolutely cat. Once they weathered a flurry of Longford points and rattled in a quick 1-2 before HT it was red rover. It was a decently paced match with surprisingly few handling errors considering the dogshit conditions. I was sitting 3 or 4 rows behind the Longford dugout, and by god is Sheedy some preening fool. Kept dancing and gesticulating at every picayune piece of action, and was in the linesmans ear every chance he got. He’s also obsessed with having messages run in during breaks in play, nearly every kick out he had his selectors out relaying something. Made a contrast to Ryan roaring buzz words.
Very dumb to have the game at 7pm in a ground with no floodlights too, when bad weather is such a possibility. Light was terrible by the end, and I’m not sure extra time could’ve been played if it had been required.
Armagh are not even top 16.
Top 32 at a push .
FYI information: The Galway and Wexford team buses pulled into The Crowne Plaza, Dundalk, simultaneously yesterday evening at 6.30pm. It was literally unbelievable.
It’s on live anyway so it hardly matters, but the Kerry-Cork replay in 2006 wasn’t live as well.
Great quiz question there. Who did wexford meet in dundalk during this years qualifiers? I hope you were impressed by our shiny new bus pal
A Bus Éireann Expressway. Lovely job.
Another quick quiz:
Before last weekend’s matches, who was the all time top scorer in qualifier games in the All Ireland senior football championship?
Again, provincial matches and ties from quarter final on don’t count. Just qualifier matches.
5 points for the correct answer with a consolation point for getting someone in the top 10.
Kildare’s John Doyle
Correct.
