2015 BDO World Professional Darts Championship - The Magic of Lakeside

Wow.

The Scotland captain in tears after that win. That’s what it means. His tenth Lakeside and the first time he’s been into the quarter finals.

That’s without a doubt the greatest night Scottish darts has had since Les Wallace won the title in 1997. Scott Waites played well but must feel like he has been hit by a train after that, specifically The Flying Scotsman.

I cannot wait for Ross’s quarter-final now against Wolfie. That is an absolutely mouthwatering prospect.

Resplendent
Outstanding
Super
Smashing

Tremendous
Herculean
Exceptional

Brilliant
Out of this world
Scintillating
Stunning

The strength in depth in the BDO is incredible.

Ross has just annihilated Scott Waites - that’s the same Scott Waites who destroyed the best of the PDC in the Grand Slam of Darts a few years back.

All 3 of this year’s BDO major winners have already been eliminated before the quarter final stage (Wilson, Hughes and Phillips).

An absolute clinic by Montgomery. Him and Wolfie should be a great match.

That bull by the Boss is without a doubt the shot of the year.

That bull finish when it was almost completely blocked and he moved three yards to the left of the oche was the best shot I’ve ever seen in the history of darts.

Scott Waites must still be plagued by that injury he picked up playing dominoes.

They all have to get up for work in the morning.

How is that Canadian guy Smith still in it?

A 91 average, that’s how. World class.

A lovely scene at the Lakeside in the last half an hour, great camaraderie amongst the knowledgeable crowd as they queue to enter the venue in a very respectful and orderly fashion.

Gettin in to the palace on sunday last was fuckin mayhem, pissed up chavs roaring and chanting like they were in the den or elland road, ill be taking my buisness to the lakeside next year thats for sure

I won’t be in a position to see today’s quarter finals but I’ll be following it closely here on TFK.

Scotty Dog Mitchell leads Brian Dawson 3-1 at the interval. Scotty has hit his last 10 double in a row. We said Ross Montgomery’s performance last night was the best we’d ever seen at the Lakeside. Scotty is surpassing him.

Proving my point about finishing being vastly superior in the BDO. Two 142 check outs by Scotty Dog apparently but Doggy Dawson has just won the 5th set.

Scotty takes the sixth set with a splendid 132 finish, hitting the bull dead centre with his last dart. He’s one set away from the semis.

And now Scotty hits a 129 outshot, finishing on the bull again! He’s taken out six finishes of 121 or more in this match.

Scotty hits double 12 first go to move into a 2-0 lead in set 7.
