2015 Club Championships - the lads are STILL at it

Ballyboden are as low as 5/6 for Leinster. They’re on the easier side of the draw but those are dreadful odds. The two previous times they came out of Dublin they failed to reach the Leinster final I think.

I’d be tempted by Navan O’Mahony’s at 14/1 for Leinster. Half their team are either current or former county players. They’re 13/8 to beat Killoe next week.

3 subs boden brought on yesterday - shane durkin , Robbie Mcdaid and Dotsy o Callaghan…inter county hurler , inter county footballer, ex intercounty footballer and current intercounty hurler …un fuckin real !

Welcome back pal, hope all is well. Did you put up a Boden and Cuala double?

Also, when and why did Dotsy transfer from St Marks?

Marks were sliding down the leagues…he left with their blessing…came to boden to win a hurling champo and ended up being one of the main reasons they won a football one…apparently the Boden keeper from Donegal joined when he was living in Dublin but is now living in Dubai and flying back for the matches!!!

Durcan is Robbie McDaid’s cousin which is where the link is. His huge kickouts had a big say in Boden’s victory yesterday.

Only in Dublin could someone leave their club with the blessing of the club

Third year in a row Carlow champions have faced Westmeath champions.

St Mullins were beaten last year by Raharney by 8 points.
Mount Leinster Rangers beat Castlown Geoghean by 2 points, 2 years ago.

Shane Briggs has come home from Middle East twice in last 7 days to line out for his club Ballinacourty. Ah lads, thats just fucking crazy. And did someone say Durcan came back from the Middle East as well for Boden? Seriously like…

Portlaoises game with Sarsfield will go ahead today despite the passing over the weekend of Portlaoise manager Malachy McNulty’s mother from a brain tumor. There had been some doubt over whether Portlaoise would play it, but the McNulty family gave their blessing for it to procede.

I don’t get games being cancelled in this day and age. There is absolutely no need for it, we are not the god fearing country we once were and in the vast majority of cases the person thems3lces would not want the games to stop.

Its a bizarre practice at this stage. If someone cannot go to a game or whatever may be the case then thats unfortunate. But in most cases they will go anyway as well as the fact that funerals can’t take place on sundays anyway. I have seen and heard tenious links to clubs in regards to people who have died to get players extra time to recover or get a player back from injury etc.

Unless its an actual player or manager i think this practice needs to stop.

They’re just games ffs. There’s more important things in life surely, and giving people, families etc time to grieve properly is one of the things we do right.

Nemo Rangers beat Stradbally by 1-13 to 0-5 last night.

The funeral was due to take place 50 yards down the road an hour before throw in. The McNulty family are intrinsically linked to the Portlaoise Club. This game couldn’t go ahead without their blessing.

Incidentally I heard details of the accident which caused the postponement of the Thurles Sarsfields game, sounded fucking dreadful, thoughts are with the poor wife.

Another farce of a situation.
