And you should definitely stay away from coaching as well.

All you know at 5 or 6 years of age is whether you like it or not, and it’s as much environment-related as anything else. If it’s GAA your brothers and sisters are playing ahead of you, if your cousins are playing when you go visit them, if your uncles/grandfathers etc spend all their time talking shite about it; there’s a fair chance you’ll fall in.
I’m jaded mate. I’ve found out tonight that I’ve been playing GAA For close to 40 years. I need a break.

Mate, you were deeply embedded in the nursery system. Every time you auld fella threw you a ball to catch, that was hours on the training paddock, dont discount it.

Don’t think PTG played underage club.
No basements in Laois pal. We played a bit of ball out the back, I thought it was just playing but tonight I’ve found out were already in competitive ball. To be fair, one of the lads broke anothers with a sliding tackle in a pair of rubber boots , so it was pretty competitive.
The hint would have been the reference to 5 or 6 yrs old in the above post. No-one I know counts that as part of how long they’ve been playing. I’m worse to be indulging you here.
