I’ve backed Oulart at 7/4.
Not overly confident so limited my bet to €3k.

I haven’t actually seen either this year but my mate played against Cuala and reckons they’re right good. Mark Schutte seems to have gone from being a bumbling lummox with a Hurley attached to being a pretty top class forward in the space of two or three years. Cuala have been banging in goals for fun all year.
I’d have him down as fairly knowledgeable.
Goes to a fair few Dublin club games. He sold it to me anyway and I have backed Oulart at 15/8. Shop around mate.

Schutte has come on a ton alright. Oulart are set up differently this year (7 backs with Keith Rossiter as spare man in the role he so loved assuming for Wexford) so it’ll be interesting to see how the pattern of the game develops. Eoin Moore or Paul Roche will likely mark (Mark) Schutte. Colm Cronin at centre forward is very good but Shaun Murphy’s meant to have had a great year at centre back for Oulart.
Interesting. Apparently Cuala banged in 7 goals against a Lucan team with Chris Crummy at centre back and Peter Kelly at full back. That’s decent going. I would like to see Oulart win as I think they would be less of threat to Na P, Cuala being very strong in the centre of attack whereas the centre of Na P defence has been shaky at times.
I hope this post doesn’t get bumped in a coming back to bite me manner next year.
Limerick teams invariably hammer Wexford sides, mate. You’ve nothing to fear if the matchup comes to pass.
would be ironic if Oulart and Portloaise both win leinster this year after failing for so many years when they were meant to be in their prime…
Cuala are a nicer hurling team but OTB look fairly focused this year.

Ya that would also be important. Nowlan Park would make them favs i’d say.

Arguably, a few years back, Dowling had the skill but not the physical prowess, while Schutte had the athleticism but could have been holding the hurl by the wrong end for all the use he was with it.
I know but they’ve had nearly 9 unsuccessful goes at it since!!..
Fair point, shows the dearth of talent elsewhere in Laois sinceand is reflected in their County teams additionally.
