2015 Club Championships - the lads are STILL at it

A great bit of movement and touches leading up to it.

I’d say they are just about the same. Some excellent stuff mixed with average enough fare from time to time. The atmosphere was vetter at Ulster final and was exciting due to extra time etc. Quality almost identical.

Castlebar have given the performance of the provincial series so far though.

How did the smallest man of thise 5 get to that? Overall in this half Portlaois deserve the 2 lead.

And then they lose it again. Basquel is a very good player. MDM has been very influential as well. Cahalane is frustrating, lacks ruthlessness. Very enjoyable 30 mins.

You would surely expect your 6’2 county player and his 2 6 foot assistents to deal with it though. Awful defending.

Dreadful defending here on both sides.

Portlaoise are wide open like they were when they played St. Vincent’s at this venue two years ago. There are goals galore for Boden here.

Durcan and the two defenders should have been shot for the Portlaoise goal. Clear own goal as well.

The grass is too long.

What were the groundsmen thinking not mowing the grass during the week with all the rain that fell?

If this game is being played at 100mph then last weeks Ulster final was 175mph. There was a different level of tenacity about it, tackles were coming in harder and faster, it was played at a faster, harder pace.

This is a decent game, you’re the one who was trying to compare them and the comparison is that today’s match doesn’t equate with it.

You’re also ignoring the fact that last week’s game was produced in spite of it being played in lashing rain, where if you ever played the game, you’d know the difficulty in handling and keeping your feet in the wet weather.

Durcan reacted to that goal like a geriatric whose false teeth have fallen out of his mouth.

A centre back who would hold his position would sort that out much better.

Disagree. Centre back holds his position but he can’t cover 2 on 1’s with a MF rampaging from midfield unmarked.

The Ballyboden no 10 is a foul machine.

The place would be in absolute shite if they cut it during the week

Exactly and anyone who played the game knows that.

Portlaoise by far the more skilful team. If there half forward line were willing to shoot from distance they would be very hard beaten.

Ballyboden coach should be ashamed of his teams tackling technique.

The major difference in the 2 games is the lack of stupid dirt and 3rd man in shit. These are 2 genuinely tough teams who just get in with it, take the belts and move on.

Ref got that wrong, rodgers clearly fouled.

This is fucking dreadful fare since half-time.

The major difference between the two games is tenacity, the defending, tackling and general shape of both teams is naive to put it mildly. You’re badly rattled here.

Typical Country v. Dublin team. Dubs depend largely on atgleticosm thru the middle and that type of player generally comes through. Its all drills and straight lines in dublin. Portlaois would have to use their resources a bit more.

Not really a criticism as thats whats needed in Dublin.

Pl are pulling the strings here. Playing great football

Ref seems to be using old rules, but to be honest its not stopping him doing a good job overall.
