The way to stop runners through the middle is not to man mark them but to clog up the space they run through, runners through the middle are endemic of man marking. It’s basic stuff this, the reason Tyrone cut open Kerry through the middle in the AI semi final time and time again was because they were too preoccupied with marking and limiting the influence of the likes of Donnelly and Harte of the game.

Not the point, the point is about stopping players coming through the middle. Your solution actually encourages teams to run through the middle - it is what creates the space in the middle to start with.
So he’s doing a good job despite not applying the rules. Right so

Excellent tactical battle. Rope a dop style of Boden v. the footballing style of PL.
Boden have a big bench though, Durcan and that could tilt it their way.

If the player running through from midfield is MARKED, then the ball to him is negated. Are you seriously that stupid to ignore that?
