out of nearly 20 players who played yesterday Durkin and wing forward are the only two…i totally agree about goalkeeper coming back is wrong in my eyes
What’s Durcan at in Dubai? Has he retired from intercounty football?
He’s a QS I think and in Qatar. Prob sees a load of work in the stadiums for the World Cup although his missus seems to be the one wearing the pants and he’s followed her over.
Portlaoise never flew Tuohy out to play for them. He holidays in Laois each off season (I know, right?) and for the Vincent’s game last year he was home for his sisters wedding.
And he’s a born and bred townie. Not the same as Durcans situation which appears quite bizarre and against the entire club ethos.
They lost the South Final to Kilsheelan this year Kev, and to Killenaule last year, (they don’t even train for football if they are in the hurling) that loss to Killenaule with much the same team as this year actually eliminated them from the County Championship.
So what? They lost a match. A group of u23’s. Does not make them bottlers. You just have an old school country club view of the “townies”. If they lacked bottle they would not have come back from the disappointments.
As i said Killenaule always have good footballers. If it goes for them on a night they can beat anyone. I’m aware they care little for it though. I have seen them play a fair bit over the years in both codes and have brought teams up there and i would say they are better footballers, for what its worth.
I don’t believe I called them bottlers Kev, but I do believe from watching them that they can be flakey, understandable as they are young, but it would not surprise me if they are beaten on Saturday.
Fair enough. But Nemo, while more experienced, would be just as open to it.
Flaky and bottling would be pretty similar really.
Not really, but I’ll bow your superior knowledge of the intricacies of South Tipperary football, not.
Whats the story with you and Killenaule kev? You mention them a good bit
@caoimhaoin paints all the fencing in Coolmore stud every Summer during his holidays. Going up to watch Killenaule train a couple of evenings a week is a welcome treat.
Have firends there and Clonmel. Old College mates. All heavily involved in their clubs in varying roles over the years

South Kerry FC final result, via carrier pigeon:
St. Mary’s Cahirciveen 0-9 Waterville 0-6 (played December 26th)
The greatest day on the GAA calendar. A disgrace that it’s not played on the hard ground of summer. It’s a disgrace that every GAA game is not played on the hard ground of summer. But wonderful that key GAA games are still being played at this time of year, all the same. What else would the lads be at?
I see Kevin Dyas has transferred to Kilmacud.
FFS. They are ruining themselves out there. They have an unbelievable u21 team coming through who will ultimately get frustrated at lack of opportunities yet they still persist with imports.
Its the GAA/Dublin GAA’s fault. They allow there to be only one club out there.
To be fair to Dyas, he has been working down in Dublin for well over the last year.
