2015 Euro U21 Championships

Held in Czech Republic this summer. The holders Spain failed to qualify.

Group A
Czech Republic
Denmark
Germany
Serbia

Group B
England
Italy
Portugal
Sweden

Two pretty even groups with the Germans the favourites to win it outright, England and Portugal second and third favourites respectively.

I’d imagine the Italian side will look something like this:

Bardi

Zappacosta
Rugani
Romagnoli
Biraghi

Benassi
Baselli
Viviani
Sturaro

Berardi
Belotti

It’s a decent side, might not be as strong as past sides but I give us a good chance. Don’t think, nor would I like to see the likes of De Sciglio or Verratti involved as they are established full internationals now but if El Shaarawy is available he should go.

What did you make of the u-17 side that beat Tom Mohan’s charges 2-0 at the weekend?

Another fascinating crop of artisan illusionists.

Spain failed to qualify but are listed in Group A?

Fixed.

Kicks off in just over 30 minutes time with the hosts Czechoslovakia taking on Denmark. Looking forward to monitoring some upcoming talent over the next few weeks.

Denmark are my tip to win it

What channel s are covering this,@Nembo Kid ?

BT, pal.

Think the Italians have a decent shout, not as many big names in this squad as have been in the two most recent sides we have had participate in this but there is a good deal of Serie A experience in it. Think we look to have the most solid defence in the competition. Don’t know too much of the the Group A teams but Germany would seem to be the team with the biggest names in the tournament.

Shake It Off used in the opening ceremony.

BT listed a Czech player not even in the squad as one of their players to watch out for. o_O

The Czech right back, who has been the most impressive player on the pitch, has given them a 1-0 lead.

Double save from the Danish keeper prevents it from being 2.

The Danes have levelled, probably don’t deserve it.

Danes beginning to dominate.

Danes have the lead, it had been coming.

Czechs have a goal ruled out, marginally off but correct call.

Danes win 2-1.

Game of two halves, Danes very poor in the first but much improve in the second. The black lad they brought on up front who scored the winner made a huge difference and was the Danes best player.

The Czech right back was outstanding, great pace and very good in the final third. Commentators were saying that he has just signed for Hoffenheim.

Must win game for Italy against Portugal now and we look up for it.

Berardi’s pass to put Belotti in there was out of this world and Belotti probably should score.

Berardi is some talent. He is causing Portugal all sorts of problems down the right along with Zappacosta.

Berardi’s range of passing is sublime.
