TJ Reid and Richie Hogan were excellent. I thought Reid was MOTM and would give him the award despite making up his own phrase in his post-match interview.

Too many mistakes… Plenty brawn but very little brains. We were fierce poor in the simple skills like lifting, hooking and blocking.

That said… That was KK at their very best and if we could clean up our mistakes and get a few breaks then I think we’d run them closer if given the chance again.

That’s assuming we get through the next few games.

Pretty much sums up that Team alright. Busting into rucks and then aimlessly hitting the ball 60 yards to KK defenders. Hitting the ball either going backwards/sideways and getting blocked down more times than not. Hugely frustrating to watch.

Do you really think so? I thought they were good, like against Wexford, but have an awful lot left to give and improve on.

Galway literally couldn’t cope with the work rate of KK. The change in pace from the Dublin and Laois games was huge and we always make mistakes under pressure.

You’d hope we might learn something.

Their work rate was massive gman.

I’m sure they’ll fine tune the hurling as the summer goes on but they’ll do well to work as hard in a game again this year.

Galway won a lot of ball but were forced into turn over or over did it themselves… Work rate from kk was impressive but their defence looks there for the taking… What a goal from Joe.

I’ve no doubting that, but I dont think they’ll have to be as physical with any other team, hence why it may have looked more pronounced today. I think they have a lot more in the tank, and they are strolling through these games at the moment.

I don’t think that was a good Kilkenny performance. Loads of simple mistakes, far too many wides and lots of bad striking. Handed away a goal as well by horrific defending and really questionable goalkeeping. Didn’t create enough goal chances.

Kilkenny working hard under Cody is a given but we have an awful lot to work on. Jackie was abysmal and was rightly taken off. Galway were very physical and gave Kilkenny plenty of it. Happy with the win but we’ll need to be much better to win an AI.
