Dyas coming in. Need him badly, he’s the key man in attack.
Brilliant score from Lacey after a terrific team move.
Armagh getting a trimming here, not at the races at all so far. Geezer looks shell shocked.
Donegal’s tackling has been near perfect. What a first half display in all facets of the game.
The Athletic grounds looks a smashing venue
You’re some delusional fucker all the same.
They have been very good, especially without the ball. They have sucked the life out of Armaghs attack
It’s a cracking wee ground so it is.
Half Time: Donegal 1-9 Armagh 0-2.
Monster kick by Murphy from 60 metres off the ground with the last kick of the half.
Donegal 1-9 Armagh 0-2.
Bring back Grimley!
What a half from Donegal. Different class. Armagh are a decent outfit but they have steamrolled them.
There should be some kind of B competition for the weak teams like Armagh it unfair on to have them playing top teams like Donegal, that’s no good to anyone
You really have to question the RTE Sports department for subjecting the viewing the public to this hopeless embarrassing mismatch. There’s already been three live Ulster championship matches this summer. Admittedly, Tyrone v Donegal, Cavan v Monaghan and Derry v Down were all close contests between evenly enough matched teams. Today’s meeting in the Athletic Ground (to anyone of a more objective disposition) had rout written all over it. Its downright disrespectful to Kerry, the aristocrats of gaelic football and reigning All Ireland that their first game in defence of their crown was not shown instead of this rubbish.
Hard to read if Donegal have been that good or Armagh that bad. Probably a bit of both. Gallagher has destroyed McGeeney anyway. No way they’re coming back from a 10pt defecit against Donegal.
They have simply refused to pass the ball back all game when they have got into advanced positions and have ended up kicking bad wides and or losing the ball in the tackle. It’s the same way Dublin played against Armagh last year with an inferior set of forwards.
Dublin v Donegal final this year.
All that half did was re-enforce the need for a second tier competition.
He is the playmaker and link man in attack.
Can’t argue with what McGuinness achieved with Donegal but how on earth did he not start McBrearty against Kerry last September?
He’s one of the best forwards in the country. Madness not to start him.

That’s a fair comment on McBrearty. He had a huge influence on that final, when he came on a sub.
Michael Murphy is the key though. He’s by some distance the best footballer in the country. Kerry winning last year’s All Ireland final was largely down to snuffing Murphy out of the game.

He was all over the shop in 14’, came off the bench and scored freely but when he started it looked like his bootlaces were tied together.
