That passage of play sums up Donegal today. Last minute of injury time and two lads sitting on the ground watching play, three lads all had a chance to get a shot away before it came to McBrierty and none took it on
Donegal players didn’t seem to complain so I doubt it

Monaghan clearly deserved that. Terrific performance. They were better for 80% of that and comfortable for about 75% of the match. Donegal didn’t even really improve all that much to claw their way back into it. That’s the danger in a low scoring game.

Fair play to Monaghan, an example of what can be achieved by a county with a relatively small pick. It’s a credit to Donegal that despite appearing so flat and with Murphy so obviously out sorts (injured?) that they still could and should have drawn that game.
