Honestly donāt think Tipp were so much better than they were in 2014 & 2015. Kilkenny have clearly gone backwards. The massive effort expended to get over Waterford the second day was normally reserved for the final. Yesterday they were flat throughout.
The Waterford replay was played the same weekend as the Tipp Galway match. It had nothing to do with Kilkennys performance yesterday.
They were spoiled over the last 15 yearsā¦ They had such a plethora of stars they could allow for one or two to have work man like days and the others would step upā¦ No Fennelly yesterday, an off form TJ but mainly just average to good players making up the squad now. KK have come back to pack and itās a good thing for hurling. Every other county will fancy themselves the have a go ā¦ A golden few years of hurling awaits.
Disagree. Only so many times you can go back to the well. Kilkenny were nowhere near the level they hit against Waterford.
That depends chief. At this very minute, only, Waterford, Tipp Galway and Kilkenny are capable of it. Rest of us need to get the house in order.
Maybe. Agree with you that Kilkenny are nowhere near the level they were at. Bit still they had a month to prepare for this. They missed Fennelly yesterday and as a result TJ Reid wasnāt effective enough. In fairness to Tipp they kept Richie Hogan quiet.
I donāt think itās a case of Kilkenny having left it all out on the field after the Waterford replay. I think @ChocolateMice nailed it when he said, they donāt have the same quality of hurlers coming through.

Almost certain that had Galway held on to beat Tipp in the Semi we would today be hearing all about the master magician Cody and yet another AI for Kilkenny, gotta love the butterfly effect.
Itās funny isnāt it. Tipp will a,ways bate Kilkenny once in awhile. As will Cork. The rest of us just shit ourselves when given half a chance against them
No he did not.
A right bitter stupid fucking fool he made you look.

It can be confusing.
No he did not. I never doubted callanans talent I doubted his bottle. Thereās a distinct difference and I always said Iād change my opinion in light of new evidence but yesterday was really a cake walk. Callanan hasnāt got as an easy ride since Richie mc marked him. I was shocked by kks tactics and the space they allowed between their fullback line and half back line.

Thatās kind of my point. In 2010 Tipp outfoxed Kilkenny, as evidence by the clamping Kilkenny put on them 12 months later once they had a chance to absorb the lesson. But the only difference between 2014 and what we saw yesterday was the quality of personnel on both sides. Not only have Tipp finally closed the gap, theyāve overtaken Kilkenny. All year we were looking at a lesser Kilkenny team replicate the appearance of the golden age through a massive effort that temporarily took them to another level. You canāt sustain that forever. Reality bites eventually and it bit hard for them yesterday.
Yes congrats tipp it was a difficult task to overtake kk after losing arguably 5 of their 10 greatest players ever in the past two seasons. It was an embarrassment kk even made the final. Hurling strong holds like cork, Clare and Galway should hang their heads in shame.
Oh feck off
