2016 All Ireland Hurling Semi Final - Galway v Tipperary - Game, Set & Match to Tipp

but ye had no business winning that semi final, gifted it by the gaa and denton, im sure in moments of honesty you can admit that

Galway won by four mate, it was a winning goal.

Very damning statistic pal, bleak reading for a westerner.

How did Galway end up playing kildare in 1980? I’m guessing they won some sort of b all Ireland and played Galway in a quarter final. Was it a once off or did it happen every year

A goal is 3 points pal. Stop digging.

I don’t particularly care mate, its a game from 27 years ago. Ye obviously still hang onto that as ye’ve had nothing to celebrate since the GAA wised up and realised that allowing counties straight into an All Ireland semi final was farcical

Galway had contested the 1979 AI (managed by Babs, a Tipp man actually put Galway on the road to glory, similar to Len Gaynor and Clare) there were murmours of how unfair it was that a county could win an AI playing only two matches so the GAA made them play a QF against Kildare safe in the knowledge that they were never going to lose. The GAA needed some new teams to come through and did everything in their power to ensure Galway won a few handy ones, note the sending off of Sean Foley in the SF in 1981.

No county should forget such disgusting antics as was carried out by Tipp then. Just admit, it’s was a lowly, horrible cowardly act. Real bottom of the barrel stuff.

Was it a once off or did it happen for a few years after that?

Aye it was despicable what he did, Keady obviously loved the dollars more than his county

maths has never been their strong point. a legitimately awarded penalty in 2009 was the deciding factor in a 5 point game supposedly!

Galway were playing QFs before 1980 mate. In 79 they beat Laois in the QF.
They played QFs most of the 70s.

Not a once off.
The AI B winners would play London in an ‘away’ final, and the winner of that would play Galway in the AIQF.
In 1973 London beat Galway in QF and played Limerick in the AISF. Match was played in Ennis I believe.

Can some clever lad not photoshop that with a Tipp geansai and a hurl?

If I’m not mistaken there were two brothers that faced off against each other that day in Cusack Park, some Limerick lad playing for London against his brother. Maybe some of the Limerick posters can confirm.

Seeing as the Limerick cunts are too lazy to chime in, I looked it up myself…

In the All-Ireland semi-final between Limerick and London, a unique situation arose when brothers Ned and Gerry Rea marked one another. Ned was full-forward on the Limerick team while Gerry was at full-back for London.

My story was better bud.

You are starting to sprout complete gibberish now.
If the GAA were interested in “lesser” counties winning AIs, surely they would have favored Limerick over Galway, who had just won the prior year. The slash on PJ Molloy was incredibly dangerous and Foley deserved to walk, regardless of how intentional it was.

don’t engage him, all the other tipp lads on here are sound, this cunt is one sad and bitter individual, the stereotippical scream in your face when winning merchant. last year he refused to discuss hurling with anyone from a county who hadn’t won an all ireland in 25 years. see his ultra original and funny quip above when he said i lived in a bedsit, that’s the intellect you’re dealing with here, a lickarse for the sites blowhards. just forewarning you.
