The premier province gets this competition underway tonight. Can’t see anyone stopping Laois before the Leinster final at the very least. I expect revenge for last years shock Cheddar-less defeat to Carlow to be wrought tonight in the Netwatch.
BORD GAIS ENERGY LEINSTER UNDER 21 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINALS
Wednesday 25th May 2016
TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar (7.30) - Kilkenny v Westmeath
Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow (7.30) - Carlow v Laois
St. Conleths Park, Newbridge (7.30) - Kildare v Offaly
Gym monkeys alright but there are a few good players amongst them as well.
I went to see Dublin/kk at this grade in parnell park last year. The Dublin boys were years ahead in terms of conditioning and a few stupid mistakes allied to good switches on the kk sideline (taking you g Cody off) saw the cats home. That being said though that was far from a vintage kk side with the mauling they received in the final vs Wexford.
Westmeath’s win would be one of the biggest shocks in GAA history, surely? Kilkenny won a minor All-Ireland in 2014, they can’t be that bad surely? I know that Westmeath have been improving year on year, but still… would be huge. Hope they hold on.
