Haven’t seen him hurl much but Russell was good for the intermediates. Having said that he’ll probably be marking English so it’s a step up. Barry Heffernan will be playing in the forwards apparently

Aside from their big names this doesn’t look a particularly good Waterford team, some average hurlers on it. But Bennett, Gleeson and Curran are class acts at this level

They did win a minor All-Ireland tbf.
Obviously those star players (and Stephen Bennett’s scoring prowess) were a big factor but the likes of Foran, Kearney and Roche are all good players too.
Most of these Clare players are fairly unheralded, although that may have to do with being mismanaged at minor level possibly.
Waterford will win this yet, although Clare are probably more solid in general

Waterford will win this comfortably. Clare have a massive breeze with them. Waterford utterly dominating the middle third now. Clare’s only home is a couple of goals against the breeze

I’d be very wary making early judgements on players but you’d often see minor teams look poor then get one or two wins and improve immeasurably over a few months.
Really? He’s scored a few lately but has battered a load miles wide. He doesn’t seem to have much control over his strikes.
