2016 Bord Gáis Energy Under 21 Hurling Championship

They laid down a marker tonight. No matter how bad Clare may have been in that time, they had serious work rate and scoring potential as well as wiping out the Clare attack.

That was the bones of the Clare intermediate team who beat us in the Munster final and looked a lot better than us that evening.

Definitely makes them favourites, hopefully we can get over Tipp and it should be some final.

In fairness you couldn’t begrudge them a Home Final. It’ll be some atmosphere down there regardless of their opponents,

Think Clare paid the price for catching them on the hop last year. They were well up for that tonight and really laid down a marker. That is a seriously big and mobile side.

well done @Fagan_ODowd

Same team beat 11 limerick seniors last week

Waterford will destroy all put in front of them. Serious power and speed in that team.

Ahh Clare had their time at U21

we were just bad our lads are not up to that ye are

Limerick team are poor. No half back line. C Lynch out of form.

I don’t begrudge them at all. But they will be unbackable regardless of whether it’s Limerick or Tipp. If Limerick win tomorrow and travel there and win, it will be a better achievement then last year’s Munster win

Say hi @Fagan_ODowd

You heard wrong, then.

Go on…

A Limerick v Waterford final will be in the Gaelic Grounds. The sides last met in 2008 and that game was in Walsh Park. All Munster U21 games alternate between home and away fixtures regardless whether they’re quarters, semis or finals. That’s why last year’s final was in Ennis.

If it’s a Tipperary v Waterford final it will be in Walsh Park.

Good. It was the father who rang me. He was on the way to Rosslare and was listening to the match on Waterford radio. Ciaran O’Connor obviously expecting a Tipp win.
Thanks Elvis. I’ll travel tomorrow with a little more hope

Serious second thirty there from the Bla men. They hardly hit a wide ball in that period. 3-10 in the first 13 minutes after the changeover. In fairness they were aided by awful Clare defending for the first two goals. Their ability to take points from any angle was very impressive though. Colm Roche and Patrick Curran will never play better than they did tonight. I’d also like to see what plan (if any) would be put in place by Tipp/Limerick to nullify the influence of the Bennetts.

That Clare U21 team were finshed last year. No tonight limerick have to win i hope the do, BUT FOR LIMERICK ITS A MUST WIN

Apparently (I was told by a lad who “was told by a lad knows gleeson”) he double strikes the ball when taking sidelines. He flicks the ball up off the first touch and strikes it proper on the follow through. He practiced it for years. If it’s true the wrist strength must be insane.

If he does then it should be a throw ball everytime as he’s breaking the rules
