Dunno but Ulster teams are rarely pushovers at this level. 10 dual starters did I hear or read somewhere?
Fair going.
Fitness certainly won’t be an issue you’d imagine.
Hard to know . I have not seen enough of them but they beat the Loughgiel so warrant respect .
Kildare seem to be making a big effort all round in hurling in fairness.
Hurling ability will be though. Standard has dropped in Antrim, and Ulster in turn.
Which is first, hurling or football? They have to pick one and go for it. I assume football.
Did not see it but thats a good performance for Cuala to come back and win Leinster. Puts a bit of a dent in my Dublin hurling teams lack mental fortitude. Hopefully this may drive it all on a bit.
How can you say Dublin hurling teams lack mentally ??? They lack skills , nous and getting the best hurlers in the field ( for a number of reasons ) but mental reasons are well down the food chain here.
I’d imagine football would definitely be priority but the hurling match will come around first, won’t it?
I’d say they will probably split training into one session in each a week and get the single code players down doing their own bit when the other code is on.
If it’s two weeks between the matches I don’t see too much of a problem. Rodgers, McKaigue and McGuigan are big players on both sides so hopefully they can avoid any injuries.
Hope they give a good showing in the semi-final anyway, it’s a great achievement.
Top of the list by a country mile. The amount of times they let teams mangle them when a few small things go wrong is unbelievable.
The constant moaning and dropping off panels etc is another indication. Any team always looking to blame someone else is not mentally strong.
Was that the foxrock ladies team that lost the football?
Enjoyable last twenty. They were the better side by far in that time. Had no luck at all.
The standard was good I thought.
There was always a decent hurling tradition in parts of Kildare. The rise in population is probably a bigger factor than their upward curve than any great work by their county board. Naas are doing really interesting things underage. Think they are playing in Kilkenny leagues at some grades now and doing very well.
Neither happened much under daly. Think you are barking up the wrong tree.
A badly needed boost for Dublin hurling. Cuala were excellent. Only downside is Dublin will probably have to play most of the league without the cuala contingent and the panel is already threadbare. Could be a humbling experience.
Ya they, or someone, won a Premier u16 title was it last year.
Certainly someone is putting in an effort anyway.
They are very organised in Camogie and Ladies Football too. Seem to make a big effort all round.
Old news now
Just checked they won the A league shield final this year and last. Good going all the same.
@caoimhaoin has decided Dublin Hurling lacks moral fibre. As far as I can tell it’s because some of us have had the cheek to point out that ger Cunningham is a carpetbagging charlatan with the management skills of Steve Staunton. However @caoimhaoin seems to think being from Cork should immunize Cunningham from all criticism and it’s all.our own fault
I think its pretty clear a large number of players don’t think playing for or killing yourself for Dublin is a priority
Rules and everything is set up to suit and enhance ladies football.
Its often better to watch than mens for purists
Oh its a ridiculous achievment in this day and age. Even winning double senior counties, allowing for maybe average standard in hurling, is a serious achievement.
Majority of senior championships will have at least 2-3 teams capable of beatinh you on a given day.
