I said Andy McEntee teams. 3 i have seen now. Sometimes it has worked because they can finish very strong, plus he had some very good players in certain places. Ballyboden had a serious team ffs

Meath are an Andy McEntee team so by definition they’re included in your argument.

Ballyboden weren’t considered one of the really top teams in Dublin - they were probably fifth or six favourites for the Dublin championship in 2015.

Cian o’Neill was pulling kildare out of an abyss of shitness for a few years. It wasn’t comditioning was their issue. Comfidence and style was the issue. And that takes time.

It’s the exact same with Meath and McEntee. Meath have have been mediocre at best for years.

Problem with Cribben and McEntee approach is you can get hammered early and the gap is often too far. That hurts comfidence.

Ballyboden under McEntee hammered St. Vincent’s and Castlebar early. They fought back late against Clonmel. They performed evenly for 60 against Portlaoise.

So they won that All-Ireland by winning in every possible manner in their big matches.

Players, attitude and generally ability outstripes conditioning. However in 50-50 games or between similar standard teams it matters alot.

Westmeath were considerably better conditioned than Kildare in 2016. Kildare have a considerably deeper pool of talent than Westmeath.

2 point hamnering aside can’t argue with that. Tipp turned over way too much possession in their own half in the 2nd half to win it. Kick outs were woeful in the second half also.

Ian Fahey & Steven O’Brien massive losses & Quinlivan playing on 1 leg a major hindrance. Armagh may win tbe next game but doubt they have a chance of causing a shock against a top 4 side.

Like any dual club losing the hurling helped. Thats life. They won several games from behind. It was a pattern. Its a pattetn with all of McEntees teams. Of coyrse there would be games won in various ways.
