2017 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

Thanks all the same Matty but I donā€™t like to enflame or comment on matters that donā€™t concern me.

Lads, did tv replays show any of the points awarded or otherwise in the Cork match to be incorrect decisions, I felt I was right behind the flight of one that was gotten wrong.

There was a number of dodgy decisions throughout yesterday so its hard to know.

I wonder will they bother making a thing of the time not being played on TSG? Refs are fair game in my opinion and this was a huge mistake. Were they worried about a replay?

Thereā€™s precedent there (1998)

A wide by DoC was incorrectly called a point by the umpires. This was reversed by the ref.

Donā€™t recall anything else that was controversial scoring wise.

Twas actually the linesman who called it.

Not precedent.

Once the time passes over the regulation (in this case 10 minutes for a half of extra-time), the timekeeping is at the refereeā€™s discretion.

There is precedent in that four minutes of injury time were signalled at the end of the 2005 All-Ireland football final and only three were played.

Perhaps Iā€™m wrong, but I canā€™t remember a replay of that final.

No thatā€™s fair enough Sid .

It was clearly wide on first viewing.

Had the usual umpire indecision of looking up at the ball from completely the wrong vantage point right beside the post, pausing for a few seconds out of panic and then belatedly awarding the score through sheer guesswork, hoping that itā€™s the right decision.

I am indeed.

Ah lovely. The annual crowning of King Aidan before he disappears meekly into the wide spaces of Croke Park. Kerry will have him for breakfast if Mayo get through.

And if Kerry get through.
