Snooker ball green and snot green were never a good mix.
An absolute bizarre decision. Colours akin to something a newborn child would produce for the first week or so.
I really canāt see Mayo doing much this year. I know itās been a common theme of the past few years where they start off slowly and everyone questions them but they still are there at the end of August or September but they donāt seem to have anything added to the side and a lot of the players are probably past their best.
Boland was very unimpressive today, Conor OāShea is being carried and I thought Andy Moran looked his age. Sligo are a pretty poor side and they were a score within Mayo with 5 minutes left. Now of course there is no need for Mayo to be peaking now but when the teams were shown today, 6 of the starting 15 were in their 30s today and Parsons and Cafferkey are 29.
I can see them going out to a mid ranking side like Cavan, Kildare, Meath, Armagh or Cork this year as this Mayo side comes to the end of an era.
Itās definitely possible they could go out early but a lot would depend on the draw if they lose to Galway, which is probably looking more likely than not on balance at the moment.
Cork/Tipperary, Armagh and Cavan are on the B side and all would have a chance of taking them if they were to meet in Round 2 or 3. A couple of easy draws however and it could be back to the same situation as last year.
I thought theyād steamroll Sligo in the second half, especially with a good wind behind them, but it never happened.
Yeah, I think they could be there for the taking like they were with Fermanagh last year if they go into the qualifiers early.
I think Mayo are on the A side of the draw?
Sorry, they are.
The A side qualifier teams will be:
Limerick
Clare
Derry
Antrim
Laois
Louth
Wicklow
Longford
Sligo
Meath/Kildare
Donegal/Tyrone
Galway/Mayo
Two of those last three will have to meet in Round 3 of the qualifiers presuming they get that far.
Round 2 should be easy enough for Mayo were they to enter the qualifiers but an away draw against Meath/Kildare/Donegal/Tyrone in Round 3 would be a tough assignment.
A side qualifiers then play the Munster/Connacht runners up in Round 4 and the Munster or Connacht Champions in the quarter-finals.
Very poor fare in Ballybofey yesterday.
The only highlight to take from it was Murphyās unbelievable performance given that the
Antrim side took it in turns to foul him every time he got the ball and the ref was unwilling to take any action on it at all.
It was probably the kind of an outing that suited Donegal as they got to give the younger guys a championship bow and bring in Lacey and McBrearty for the last ten minutes as well.
Antrim needed to take every chance that came their way and the two missed goal opportunities cost them dearly but the difference in fitness and physicality stakes would have told in the end anyhow.
They have some hope with a decent minor team seeing off Donegal though. Itās a fucking balls have to put back the senior game 45 minutes to play out the extra time though. Both Antrim sides were playing a lovely style of diagonal ball that Donegal and Tyrone could learn from.
Are you from Donegal mate?
It explains your semi-coherent inputs on the TFKNFLFFL threads.
Stick to the the anti-Trump baiting buddy.
I live in Donegal and Iām from Wexford.
As I was saying.
āStick to theā, āstick theā or āstick the theāā¦
Which is it mate?
Yes Iām sure Donegal and Tyrone could really learn from a style that sees a team beaten by 16 points.
Have Carlow ever won a championship game before yesterday?
Itās the way that Armagh played in 2002 and Kerry in 2006 so, yes, I think they could.
Donegal tried to do it briefly yesterday with McFadden played very close to the close but then they started focusing on counter attacking.
I didnāt ask for a selfie mate
Canāt believe Carlow beat Wexford? Never even heard of Carlow winning a senior championship game.
Football has changed. Kicking the ball away is not a style of play any of the top sides incorporate now.

I wasnāt saying kicking the ball away. An accurate diagonal ball is the best option. Not hoofing the fucking thing forward and hoping for the best. Far better that the short passing in midfield that has been the undoing of most teams in the last few years.
