Takes years for the best of managers if you don’t have the quality panel.

Gavin has/had a panel to work with.

Harte had an unbelievable squad in early 00’s right up to 09.

Not taking away from him or them. He did things never done before and breaking moulds is not easy.

But he is definitely there too long now and held this squad back for 3-4 years.

And Gavin has made the most out of his squad.

This “natural gootballer” shote is just that. Almost every player has got gradually better under him.

It’s complete hearsay to say he has held the squad back. An AI U21 winning squad has strengthened his hand massively & the team workrate is off the charts currently.

He has done a fine job this year with the team, to say anything else is bonkers. The scores they have ran up have been very impressive.

You could say that alright.

Personally I don’t think they are anymore impressive than last year.

They have played shite.

They were ridiculously negative past 2 years. Under his management.

How can you call them negative this year?

I think to date, although the bext 2 games really decide, they are better.

Not as much this year for sure. But its taken 3-4 years to get it out of them. They would only go for games when they were lost.

They have the players now, which is the point I made earlier.

They are stronger. No doubt.

But they had the players last year at the very least.

It was damage control football.

I dunno. Dean has bottled some frees in tight games before. 7 is a lot of points for him to hit.

Rock is the most reliable freetaker left in the championship.

Thats a long way back. He is literally Rock Solid now. Pun intendee.

He had a flaky side 2-3 years ago maybe. But not now

That’s true. Rock has also bottled frees in big games before. And 7 scores is a high enough target to hit. I think it’s certainly not free money.

has the border bull nailed his colours to the mast yet?

As has almost every Tyrone player under Harte.

And some have come in absolute leaps and bounds.

Back to back Ulster titles and three All-Ireland semi-finals in five seasons comprises “staying too long” now, apparently. That’s clearly trolling.

Nope. I think i’d probably being giving them a 49/51 shot sunday had they 2 seasons with a more progressive coach.

Understandable in ways and especially when you start out that you learn by defeats/mistakes etc. But it has taken him 3-4 years to learn the game had evolved. He completely underestimated the forward ability of teams like Mayo, Dublin and Kerry by thinking he could upset them pyrely thru ugly defending.

Gavin is someone who empowers the players. Harte is a planner who sets out the path in stone. These days thats not enough. Teams like Dublin work on their decision making too much to mot be able to figure out ways in.

Harte not progressive but you laud Rochford for that AOS experiment? :grinning:
