10, draw, 4, 15, 7, 10, 10, 11, draw, 12.
The margin would suggest otherwise.
Two draws in ten attempts while the dubs had two wins and offaly one does support this old fallacy.
Plus loads of them had All irelands so you canāt compare to Mayo

1976 Munster Final replay loss was a cruel blow for Cork. They were completely blackguarded and it more or less saw the break up of their 1973 winning team. As youāve illustrated, Kerry hammered them by double digits every year after that, up to 1983.

I must check to see has there ever been a debate about this topic on this forumā¦
Iām not getting into the whole thing, because I think itās stupid to ignore both the advantages and disadvantages that Dublin have
However, Dublin is treated as a province by the GAA. Just an FYI. No further comment required nor necessary. Just to add to your information bank
Sorry. Disadvantages?
Run me thru tgem?
Off the top of my head
Competition from other activities i.e. rugby, soccer, hockey, gymnastics, tennnis, every activity you can name, drugs, etc. The choice for kids in Dublin is phenomenal
Absolute dearth of clubs in Inner city Dublin, never mind actual pitches
An infiltration of country players getting games ahead of home grown players. This is a big issue rearing its head and is driving young fellas away from clubs
Super clubs in middle class areas. No personalisation to the kids and itās become a babysitting service. Kids getting nothing out of it
For all the money they get itās not even a drop in the ocean to what it needs to hit. Itās only working out at something like 14ā¬ per head. Sure thatās not worth a wank (I realise this is ironic due to the amount, but itās true)
Itās a way more complex issue than any of the above, but if you genuinely believe Dublin donāt suffer ANY disadvantages, then you need to study social sciences some more instead of neurosciences
No none.
Cork has all those issues. Identical in fact
As do most urban areas on some level. All thise issues are national and social issues.
Ye are some fucking boyos. Talk about dublin centric attitudes.
They are not disadvantages. They are issues that could be sorted with a bit of will
All those problems the GAA faces with other sports and drugs etc are in all other counties.
One problem with GAA in Dublin has been that the big new urban working class areas have never been really trapped . Killinarden , Jobstown , Darndale , Clondalkin , Finglas west , Hartstown etc are utter wastelands and that is damning on Dublin GAA .
The GAA and government money put in to Dublin in last 15 years has largely supported the march towards elitism .
For someone who is supposedly so open to new ideas and ahead of the curve at sport sciences, youāre shockingly closed minded to the fact that Dublin would have no disadvantages. Youāre actually not that open minded and typical of the GAA attitude that just think Dublin = big = more money = bad
Itās sad actually. I had you down for better than that
For the record, Iām well aware of our advantages and am not blind nor closed to them Iām actually deeply involved in Dublin GAA, so Iād wager I know a lot more about us than you ever will
Anyway, as stated. Iām not getting into this, especially on here
Would have thought Darndale is fairly well serviced with Craobh Ciarans pitch on the Clonshaugh road, OāToole and Parnellās all literally spitting distance from it.
Round Towers in Clondalkin, Erinās Isle in Finglas West, St Peregrines in Hartstown. These are not great examples to be using to illustrate how weak the GGA is in certain parts of Dublin.
Also rural people need to get their head around the fact that Dublin people are spoilt for choice and a lot of people simply donāt like Gaelic games. Itās ludicrous to expect a club in every parish like you get down the sticks.
Isnāt Innisfails up that way too?
That is entirely what all of irish life is like now.
In my old club fellas are rowing, douig Crossfit, playing soccer, mountain biking and all that.
The 1st team got 17 out for last round of championship. The B team got 32. That exactly encapsulates where fellas heads are. Ubless is uber organised or they have a competitive shot lads donāt give a fuck. Too much work for the normal bullshit.
I transfered next door because of lack of games. 2 others doing same next year for hurling.
Craobh are practically dying at underage. I donāt think theyād a minor team for a few years even. Thereās a tiny amount coming through, but it sad to see one of the old school Dublin teams suffering
Isles are fucked too. Itās a constant battle in these areas to keep hearts and minds involved in GAA.
Yep but darndale is a wasteland. I donāt know why Oātooles or parnells never got in there. There was also another club up there, Kilmore, i dont know if they are still going.
Its very funny reading these dubs thinking this is all unique
Darndale is a wasteland full stop, but weāve established that there are 5 GGA clubs nearby which makes a mockery of what @Ashman was saying.
Round Towers and Erin Isle have never really harnessed the sprawl beyond their old area . They certainly havenāt maximised the working class sprawl . EI have been in massive decline since 1998 . Round Towers ( Jim Galvinās club) havenāt really progressed .
As I understand there is no one from Tallaght on the Dublin football panel now .
Dublin people also need to realise that a lot of rural people arenāt that keen on Gaelic Games and even those who are have plenty other attractions . A lot of young kids in my own area of West Limerick prefer soccer and rugby to GAA and many of those who play GAA are split on hurling and football .
