Giving a free when it was clearly a peno late in the game⌠Think it was on Keegan? That ref bottled some big decisions in Dublins favour todayâŚ
As usual
I felt he got a 2nd wind and was MOTM were mayo to win.
James McCarthy should probably get it now.
Mind you Connolly had a massive inpact
The ref handed CâOC a last minute crucial free. He bottled it.
As usual.
Mother of God, Mayo. Groundhog Day yet again. The better team and once more leave it behind them. Itâs gut wrenching watching as a neutral, God only knows what itâs like for their fans or players to go through this again.
Dublin Joe gave them nothing but ultimately it was their own failings again. Cillian OâConnor missing a handy free in the first half, Keegan dropping one short in the first half, Moran missing an easy one in the second half, the free off the post and the icing on the cake - the goal chance in the second half. Christ, how many chances do you need. They always find a way to mess it up, itâs heartbreaking as they keep coming back year after year and have some fantastic players.
Idiotic from Vaughan. Smallâs reaction got him the red. Think it was a yellow but charging in recklessly always left him open to being sent off. McQuillan is a poor, poor ref and gave bad decisions against Dublin too. Overall I thought he was way harsher on Mayo but they were the authors of their own downfall. Played all the football in the first half and went in a point up.
Bar one or two players this Dublin team isnât that dislikeable. The likes of Flynn and McCaffrey seem decent lads. Some achievement to win three on the bounce. They just know how to win.
But Mayo, Jesus. Itâs soul destroying watching them fuck it up year after year.
Thought Barret in 2nd half gave an exhibition of defending under serious pressure. Dubs scored 12 points in 2nd halfâŚdidnt feel like itâŚthey worked for em all
What supplements are Dublin players taking, so many of them cannot control their aggression levels.
The free was blown before he dived in the box
You can tell you never played sigerson the way you donât get the nuances
Loving the Muldoon pain on here tonight.
Bitter to the core
41 vs 1
The gas thing is half of these clowns live in Dublin. They must spend most of their lives stewing in their own hatred.
Well done to my beloved Dublin football team.
its bizarre
if i took a wrong turn somewhere in my life and ended up living down the bog, id root for my adopted home
Oh mayo God help us.
Watched it again there at home.
-
Coc has gotten worse as a free taker. That one just before half time.
-
Keegan drops it short and O Gara gets a point from Hawkeye in the same play.
-
Should have been a mayo pen in the 2nd have but the ref calls it back for a 14 yard free
-
The Vaughan red. In isolation it was a yellow but Mcquillan just evened things out. It was a scorable free but but ended up a throw in.
-
The Dublin free before ht. Kk collided with Andrews after he had taken three steps. It was over carrying.
-
James McCarthy was mom.
-
Clarkes last kick out
-
That was the best football final I can remember.
-
I was one of the last 100 in croke park. On the way out I saw 2 50 year old mayo women bawling. Youâd need a glass eye not to shed a tear with them.
How much of a bearing did McCaffreyâs injury have on Dublin?
Nobody else has his sort of pace in that Dublin team.
Connolly was good when he came on but he seemed to me to be playing within himself.
no comment on the o shea black card or the COC foul on Cooper?>
Ah would you stop. Moran took about 15 steps before his first point. CoC flattened Johnny Cooper from behind before slotting a point. Dublin couldnât buy a free in the first half. Not to mention the sideline that should have gone to Dublin or AoS foot tripping a fella or literally jumping on top of another lad. Shit happens. Mayo got more than their share of breaks. CoC bottled a free in extra time and Dublin went up and won it.
Fuck off with your well documented anti Dublin shit.
Odd phrasing.
He threw a dig at Small, how the fuck is it not a red?
It was fully in Mayoâs control and capability to win that. Every aspect of their tactical plan worked - right down to Dublin having to unload their bench early, nullifying a key supposed strength. For some of the reasons youâve outlined they failed to get the job done again. The fact that supporters are looking outward, at the ref, rather than inwards is fairly instructive.
Itâs hard to see how they come back again - that loss has to cut the deepest.
