It was similar to the impact of the McCarthy black card last year, that acceleration from deep up into the attack is a big part of how they open up defences

In many ways Mayo have been blessed with injuries during this period - the only real serious injuries I can recall in that time have been to the likes of Keane and Cafferkey.
It was a fair point. They just needed Hawkeye to finally award it.
In my opinion if Small wasnât on a yellow at that time the ref would have given a yellow to each player. It was a physical game and he was balancing the books

I agree with that. I didnât think that Vaughanâs challenge warranted a straight red but was given as Small correctly got a second yellow.

My favourite moment was when Barrett dispossessed Andrews in the first half. Iâm not a fan of Paddy Andrews.
Not a fan of OâGara either. Today should see him get a decent holiday from the game.

A shocking decision by Gavin to play him. He struggled to pick the ball off the ground at one stage. Had Rochford made a similar decision he would be slated.

Vaughanâs red was as stupid as the come. He went in third man and clattered a man as obviously as small did. Anyone trying to justify it is clinging to the fact that it may have been his upper arm and that they just didnât want to see a mayo fella get a red.
