âYou dont win anything with kidsâ
Their minors played ours before the senior game this year. They seemed to have 4 or 5 really nice players indeed.
They still have a good nucleus of lads there with 3/4 years plus of intercounty experience who have played on big occassions.
McGlynn, McGrath, McHugh x2, MacNiallais, McElhinney, Murphy, McGee, McBrearty, OâReilly, McLoone - thatâs the nucleus of the side.
I would say Cork had better indivuals with the exception of the tall midfielder, Donegal had a better overall team though. And they were set up to win the Minor Championship, whereas Cork for the first time in a long time were set up to develop players. Donegals Minor defensive set up mirrored the Seniors in alot of ways and thats a very restricted set up that wonât win you shit at the end of the day.
The reason for bring them in is to get them up to speed with the lifestyle required etc. Only the odd freak is capable of playing before 21/22
Lacey is worth more than all of those together considering his experience and education
Donegal had no real defensive set up. They got destroyed by Galway because of that in the semi final.
Lacey is done.
yes they did. They played a sweeper and the diagonal line. I was on the half way line looking at it.
That ideology was clear in them (against us, at least). They had it down, we were only figuring it out as we went along as usual. Youâre right, though, wonât win much with it when push comes to shove.
Mark Buckley from Doheneys looked a real dinger from our bunch.
Well it was certainly non-existent against Galway.
The corner back from Clon is a ridiculous footballer. One of those âfreaksâ i think may play at 18/19/20. Think he is underage again though
Only for the injury to the Keeper Cork would have won. Kerry lads believe Cork were by far the best team they played.
Agree on Management, but they accepted early doors they were all learning. Mind you how the lads, who were 3 rows to my left, didnât see how to change it was disappointing. Still too many guys viewing the game in light of what guys did in the past, not what is actually unfolding in front of them. A few of those selectors are very raw, barely have club experience. Noelie for instance has none. Iâll never agree with that type of parachuting.
Good chunk left next year and overall believed to be a better team. Same Management too which is good, theyâll all have learned alot.
i doubt it, but didnât see it.

Agreed .
The King in the North
Back for now that is.
I doubt a day goes by with Jamie giving two fucks about anything, and rightly so if you can get away with it.
Jamie Clarke reminds me of Ciaran McDonald. He needs a coach to tell the team to run everything through him and let Jamie do as he pleases. Not a man for the tough love treatment I imagine.
