based on the results are the colleges also “resting” players for this?
I find it hard to believe they could be that poor. Generally they’re mid ranking, would have a few footballers from Laois, Westmeath, Carlow, Tipperary, etc, and all would be of a generally decent enough underage status. I do believe Sean Dempsey isn’t over them down there this year though so perhaps the organisation is a bit shoddy, but I doubt its this bad.

There’s at least 3 Laois U21’s in there, 2 of which got run outs with the Laois seniors last Sunday. One of which, the centre back got their only score of the game. `
Absolutely farcical that the third level teams are invited to play in the Leinster competitions. The Munster Council had the right idea in kicking them out last year. Wexford hurlers beat a UCD second string side by 35 points the other day.

M Russell is a son of Paddy the referee. He may be remembered for getting his notebook knocked out of his hands by Paul Galvin and struggling to send Charlie Redmond off in an all Ireland final.
Mark would have been a part of a few tipp U21 teams and on the extended senior panel a few times. Handy hurler also. Played FF for the Tipp inters last year.
