Campbell’s conversion of the McLoughlin try was all the more noteworthy as Peter Winterbottom gave him a really bad belt in the build up to the try. He was flat out and completely winded after it, but picked himself up and dusted himself down to kick it. Crucial conversion as the game was only won 16-15 - albeit the England try and conversion was right at the end when the game was won.

Keith Crossan got the try you are referring to in Cardiff in 1985. Trevor Ringland got the other try in that game.

Another bizarre post with no correlation or structure in the context of the debate. Is it too much to ask you, for once, to stay on point?

Eddie Jones is one of rugby footballs good guys.

Finn Russell playing his way off the Lions tour

The pendulum is swinging to Brexit nations dominating the Lions.

I’ve checked back on the post and my recall is correct, albeit the references to Cavan, Roscommon and Offaly were in 2015 and not 2016. Signs are that @Nembo_Kid has completely lost it and is just rambling incoherently. Here’s the post from 17 May 2015.

You constantly refer to sides who are without All Irelands in 30 odd years plus as being traditional GAA superpowers, the fact is they are irrelevant in the modern context of the game.

Bizarre how you can credit Johnny Come Latelys like the West British rugby side as being one of the traditional big teams and refer to cycles - utterly bizarre.

It’s very ironic that the only Brit on the board uses such childish terms as West Brit when describing rugby. He is all over the shop

This is sublime from Eng-er-lund.

Compare that to the cave man dross that fraud Schmidt churns out.

If he was a horse he’d have been put down months ago, just sit back and enjoy pal. @GeoffreyBoycott has it easy as usual.

If by West British rugby side you are referring to Ireland, you are again showing a very poor grasp of basic facts. Ireland are no Johnny Come Latelys. Ireland were a powerhouse of world rugby as far back as the 1890’s winning the International Championship in 1894, 1896 and 1899.

You are all over the shop here. Go off to an Ulster football thread and start talking to yourself (like you do on the Serie A thread) about Offaly, Cavan and Roscommon.

The West Brits have the lowest number of successes of the traditional 5 nations. Their recent “success” is in contrast with tradition, something that contradicts your outlook on other sports.

Another Boycott double standard - it’s about time you started to be honest with the forum.

He’s just displaying his ignorance. We have the most capped Lion, the highest Lions tryscorer, we have had ten Lions captains over the years we punch miles above out weight in the administration of the world game. It’s just a small handful of small minded people who don’t respect rugby in Ireland

That’s a serious clamping.

The forum’s unionist, conservative, barstool blueshirts won’t like that one bit.

So you’re a West Brit and proud of it?
