Both Juventus âwinsâ have asterisks over them, particularly 1985, in which they were awarded a phantom penalty, while Liverpool, much like the Italian and Irish supporters at one end of the crumbling stadium, were denied a stonewaller.
The football was very much an irrelevance that night, however, and Liverpool were far too gentlemanly to object, which was the correct and dignified reaction.
But the disgusting behaviour of the Juventus players and supporters after that game should not be forgotten - they took obscene pleasure in the irrelevant result of a football game that should never have been played, effectively pissing all over their own dead.
