There will be seven Munster SHC games shown and three Leinster SHC ties.

Sky are announcing their live games on Tuesday.

@Bandage you might want to let Michael Duignan know

I presume they will have the Tyrone Monaghan game?

Certainly hope so

I’d say there is very little chance. RTE have 2 live games that day so Sky won’t have any interest competing with them.

What date is it on ?

Can BBC show it ?

What’s competing with it? I would have thought Tyrone v Monaghan would be box office.

It’s on 20th May. Rte showing a pair of round robin hurling games :man_facepalming:

I read elsewhere that BBC have two live games (the Ulster final and the Fermanagh/Armagh v Tyrone/Monaghan semi-final).

Two more games will be shown live on BBC iPlayer with the other four shown deferred and in full on BBC 2.

I imagine the Tyrone-Monaghan game will probably be one of the iPlayer games.

It’s pretty farcical that 2017 was the first of a three-year TV rights deal and that in the second year of the deal the championship formats change massively yet the number of live matches doesn’t change with it.

This is outrageous and without question anti Ulster bias.

Even the most ardent hurling supporter would agree that a do or die Ulster football game between Tyrone and Monaghan is a bigger draw than either of the 2 hurling league games being shown

That fucking shitfest of hurling over the game of the summer Championship.

I could begin to get my head around it if the hurling games were knock out. But this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

Both hurling games feature potential All-Ireland winners. There isn’t a game in the entire Ulster championship you could say the same about. Ulster was largely drab last year and then the champions got embarrassed in Croke Park. It’s similar to how Connacht football was viewed in the early 90s and is being treated similarly.

Sure every hurling game features potential all Ireland finalists considering only about 7 counties take it seriously

Oooft.

I would say most hurling people would laugh their hole off at ya.

Not that I necessarily agree. But they would.

Hurling snobbery is a very ignorant trait

Who takes football seriously?

Not much more.

Hurling snobbery toward football or hurling snobbery toward weaker counties ???

Ouch
