Donât forget your shovel if youâre workinâ for the Gah
Oh donât forget your shovel if youâre workinâ for the Gah
Donât forget your shovel if youâre workinâ for the Gah
'Cause youâll end up digging on the radio
Digging, digging, digging. Ow di liddle do.
And donât forget your shoes and socks and shirt and tie
And all
Donât forget your shoes and socks and shirt and tie and all
Mr Miltonâs afraid youâll make a claim if you take a fall
Howâs it goinâ â Not too bad â Ow di liddle do
And we want it played in Croker but weâre always digginâ holes
We want it played in Croker but weâre always digginâ holes
Ye want it played in Newbridge but weâre always digginâ holes
Well thereâs one thing you can say â we donât know where we are going.
Any chance of a match â No â OK â Ow di liddle do
And if ye want to do it â weâre going to take our ball
If ye want to do it â ye can raise it in the Dail
But ye wonât be playinâ a football match at all
Thereâs a jacks up in the corner where they wonât see you at all.
Mind your flourbags.
The Gah will give us a job, digginâ our way to Annascaul
The Gah will give us a job, digginâ our way to Annascaul
The Gah will give us a job, digginâ our way to Annascaul
And when weâre finished digginâ the hole will be deeper and all
Now thereâs six thousand five hundred and fifty-nine Lillies over there in Newbridge all trying to see the football
and very few of them boys is going to see anything at all
â I think thatâs terrible.
Donât forget your shovel if youâre workinâ for the Gah
Donât forget your shovel if youâre workinâ for the Gah
Oh, donât forget your shovel if youâre workinâ for the Gah
'Cause youâll end up digging holes on the radio
Digging, digging, digging. Ow di liddle doooooooooooooh
Cian O Neill is giving the press conference at 5. Fair play to Cian, we all know how much he hates the media spotlight, but hes insisting on being the public face of this Kildare stand. Cant imagine what other things he could be better using his time for this week.
Bornacoolaâs finest Fergal McGill will be proven right here.
Great thinking by him to maximise the non venue for Cavan/Tyrone as well as the Newbridge situation for the financial benefit of the volunteers of the GAA. Of course keeping our Sky Sports partners on side is vital as well for the benefit of growing the games abroad.
There are those in the gaa top brass who wonât mind sky being blamed for this but the reality is sky have nothing to do with this decision or werenât even a factor.
Gaa wanted more money than Newbridge could make them which is well and good if itâs a business but this is an amateur Sport. Kildare need to be backed here by ordinary rank and file members.
whatâs the story with made up rivalry your trying to pretend exists with klldare and Laois?
have there any games of note in recent years or is it over something stupid like the positioning of the toll bridge on the M7/8? ,
I wonder did sky have any input at all into this ? I really canât imagine Rupert Murdoch in NYC bellowing down the phone to some GGA suit to put 2 games at CP on Saturday evening .
One thing however , the spud hockey finals on Sunday have been overshadowed .
This whole thing plays hugely into Mayoâs hands. They probably would have beat the Lillywhites anyway but with all the circus surrounding a stand off over the venue the Kildare players will have a weight of expectation on them to justify all the fuss and not to fall flat on their faces. Prior to this theyâd have been going in to the match with nothing to lose. All in all a disaster for their hopes of staying in the championship whatever the outcome now.
