Yes but youâre comparing Tyrone with Dublin. Theyâre not playing Dublin, theyâre playing Monaghan and Tyrone have had their number. It will be a tight game and a Monaghan win would not be as big a shock as youâre making out but Tyrone are better. Theyâre going for 3 Ulsters in a row now.
Last year was an embarrassment and should have seen the end of Harte. I stead they have dug in even further. He is ruining a generation of very good footballers
Itâs a bit spurious to base a judgement on a team on one singular result. Mayo are falling away at present, the team are aging and nothing new is coming through.
Iâve a spare ticket for Monaghan v Tyrone tomorrow. Game of the summer and not on TV. Iâve advertised it on my Facebook but no takers. Iâll give it for free to any non-fund of a poster who wonât cheer for Tyrone. Iâll meet you outside the stadium tomorrow. PM me if interested.
The big games are all that matter in ranking a team or assessing their ability to win out. I would certainly judge them on their one big game last year.
They failed on every level.
Itâs questionable if they even have the ability but they certainly do not have the management.
Absolutely they failed but youâre still basing everything on one result. In terms of where Tyrone are at, they have a much younger team than the likes of Mayo and Dublin at present do they have more potential to improve and grow.
Tyrone have it all to prove but Iâm happy enough with the job Harte has done when you look at how teams like Meath, Galway, Down, Armagh, Cork have fallen in recent years. Harte has kept Tyrone at the top table throughout his tenure.
If they could drag it down to out and out trench warfare youâd have to fancy them. Battle hardened , I think would cover it. I think they have too much for Tyrone tomorrow but weâll see.
Just pulled into the Applegreen at Coyneâs Cross on the way down to Wexford. Iâm delighted to report that Brian Carthy and Seamus McEneaney are live from Brewster Park on Radio One and Iâll be rejoining them shortly.
