England could not have hoped for a better draw. If they canāt reach the quarter-finals at least they should be told to stay in Russia.
Gareth Southgate is the sort of nice, mannerly chap that middle England will have no trouble in getting behind. But his prospective battle of wills with Roberto Martinez has a real bang of a Premier League relegation six-pointer about it.
I fancy Morocco and Egypt to upset Portugal and Russia respectively. Portugal have a tremendous record of flopping in the group stages at World Cups and Morocco thrashed them in 1986.
Overall, there isnāt a whole lot to get enthused about in that draw - itās pretty dull, all told, and thereās no big clash of titans to get excited about or anything.
Portugal v Spain, England v Belgium and Argentina v Croatia are probably the three most attractive games in store.

Thatās very much a matter of debate. They had an easy qualifying group. Switzerland are a very overrated team.
Pepeās best days are surely behind him and a 33 year old Cristy will need some good gear to be anywhere near his best next summer.
Guedes, Bernardo Silva and Andre Silva are much better than the players they had in those positions for the Euros. They have a very good manager as well

Great news for Peru. Star player Paolo Guerrero has had his drugs ban halved and will be eligible to play in the World Cup.
It would have been a travesty had he not been eligible for a tournament whose chief organiser is Vitaly Mutko.
