Roma were absolutely hammered at a Anfield. 5-0 down and Liverpool subbing Salah off for a rest. 7-3 down on agg with 45 mins to go in the tie. Karius handed Roma two goals at the death. They were deservedly beaten. Liverpool never looked like losing that tie.
Real Madrid are a magnificent Club. Its just an honour for City to be in the same breath as the likes of such European royalty no doubt.
Only for the referee. Liverpool would not have been in the final. They gassed near the end of both games, Roma had three penalties not given. Alexander Arnold should have been sent off.
The referee came to their rescue when they were teetering.
Ah Roma scored 2 goals in injury time as a result of Karius howlers when Liverpool were complacent and the tie looked over. The 7-6 aggregate scoreline flattered Roma. The two teams development since then supports this.

Liverpool having a dodgy keeper is an irrelevance.
The fact that they had to rely on a match official cover up their shortcomings says much more. The decision not to award a penalty to Roma and send off Alexander Arnold was absolutely scandalous.

Roma got a fairly soft penalty at Anfield if I remember correctly. Think it was given against James Milner. Roma can have no complaints when they found themselves 5-0 down at Anfield after 70 mins.
Liverpool put 7 goals past the best goalie in the world. Totally dominated both legs as you say.

Roma can absolutely have huge complaints about the referee and the scandalous decisions he made. It was a scandal.

A consolation goal? Roma were one goal away from forcing extra time. They had three clear penalties turned away and a Liverpool player not sent off.
The only reason Liverpool made that final was a disgraceful refereeing performance. Everyone in Europe knows that English clubs buy the referees.
