Agreed. He was in the final group so could let it play out in front of him which he likes.
Fundamentally, it isn’t a difficult game to understand.
Yes it is. You are harping on about greens, trees, rough and all this rubbish. It’s a game played between the ears. Molinari hit the ball into the water at 12th for no other reason only pressure. That’s golf. I forget was it Gary player that said golf is difficult because there’s so many right ways to hit the ball and it slowly drives you insane. The masters is special because there is no other event that applies pressure like it. Looks at the incredible collapses we have seen in the past 8 years or so. Molinari, spieth, Mcilroy. It destroys lads. Those 3 collapses had nothing to do with the difficulties of the greens.
McIlroys career has tailed off since he won the PGA. He won 9 pga tour events in 4 years up to that point and has won 6 in 5 years since.
It has been played there before. The 80th renewal of the Open was played at Royal Portrush in 1951. Had the Masters even been invented by 1951?
He’s done a lot of fucking around since no doubt. Mcilroy has almost certainly been distracted by the coin he’s earned too. Not sure he wants it enough at times.
Didn’t somebody say here yesterday that in the split second Molinari was hitting that ball at the 12th, some fellow in the commentary box called Richie Beem said there was a gust of wind? That’s very bad luck.
He won titles in a weak era, the new kids on the block are showing him up. He’s a Lleyton Hewitt/Andy Roddick type figure who will soon be utterly irrelevant.
Are you all there? It’s golf, not war.
Expertise by many on this site seems to be acquired very quickly
Complete lies. There was no wind at that point. Your boy bottled it. He had no reason to be aiming anywhere near where he was.
That’s a brilliant comparison
Jesus. Thats wicked. I’ll be using that if you don’t mind.
My boy? I’m not a golfing man. I’d never heard of the chap until the Sunday he won the big one at Carnoustie last July.
What new kids? Koepka and spieth are the only two golfers to win more than one since he won his first in 2011 and still haven’t surpassed his four.
You were bigging up Molinari all day yesterday. He completely bottled it.
Maybe it was the suspect Italian temperament.
He’s a European tour player. Thrives in the wind. When the pressure cranked up he bottled it.
Molinari won the biggest tournament of all at Carnoustie last summer. It was Eldrick that cracked on the back nine in the final group that day.
The Augusta masters is the biggest golf tournament on the world. He shat it yesterday.
