Federer not only breaks back but holds his serve to lead 5-4.
Is Nadal vs Nishikori the headline match? It isn’t in its bollox, the headline match is Federer against Wawrinka and should be on the bigger court.
I expect you will apply the same when wimbledon comes round and Nadal is on court 1 instead of centre court and we wont have to listen your usual whinging moaning shite about how Nadal is treated unfairly.
Is it?
One would think the no 2 seed vs the no 7 seed is the headline game.
it isnt its bollox. it was 6-1 in the first set. Federer vs Wawrinka is the top billed match.
Take off the blinkers ya dope.
What a game that was. 5-5 in the third.
If it was it would be on the main court. The King of Clay is the big draw against a higher seeded opponent.
Federer is 1/11 in break points.
Shades of Tsitispas all over again for him.
At 37, pushing 38 its inevitable for any player even the GOAT to struggle the way Roger has struggled over almost all of 2018 and 2019. Its hard to know what his motives in playing on are when he’s losing to the likes of Thanasi Kokkinakis, John Millman, Kevin Anderson and even young rising stars like Borna Coric and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
He’s playing a 34 year old who came through a 5 hour game in his last match.
Wawrinka vs Federer is the top billed match. 20 time slam champion against 3 time slam champion, where as Nadal vs Nishikori is the a 17 time slam champion against broken down player who is more likely to pull out injured than finish the match.
What the fuck was that from Federer. He needs to start taking these break points against Wawrinka.
Exactly. Federer of up to 4 or 5 years ago as opposed to the completely over the hill Federer of 2019 would have had this wrapped up an hour ago against a veteran opponent who spent 5 hours on court just 2 days ago and against whom he holds a 22-3 career record.
Nadal has more than 5x the no of French Opens as both combined
Struggling to win this game.
Who gives a fuck, he has only 17 slams compared to a combined 23 between Wawrinka and Federer. They should be on the bigger court.
Finally got that game. This will be another tie break.
Looks like its a classic on Philppe Chartier where Nadal has won the first 6-1 and is 3-1 up in the second. I expect Nishikori to pull the usual sickie if he doesn’t win a couple more games.
Why should they be on the bigger court? Federer hasn’t even had the courtesy to compete in Paris for a few years and you want him on the big court?
Oh what a volley by Federer. you have to wonder why this is not on the Philippe Chartier court.
Some performance from the 38 year old Federer here.
