2019 Roland Garros

Paire now has set point.

Nishikori double fault and now Paire has set point again.

Paire takes the 4th set.

5th set beckons and Paire gees up the partisan Parisian support.

Djokovic takes the first set against Struff.

Paire breaks.

Nishikori breaks back.

Paire breaks again and will serve for the match.

Now Nishikori breaks back. The old mental failings of Paire coming to the surface.

Nishikori breaks again and will now serve for the match.

Nishikori through.

That’s five through to the quarters so far.

Djokovic
Nadal
Federer
Nishikori
Wawrinka.

No giraffes there yet anyway.

Nishikori/Paire put out to play at such a ridiculously late time on Sunday evening, they were always going to be back on court in the midday Monday sun. Preferential treatment again for their quarter final opponent Nadal. Early start time on Sunday and a day off today ahead of Tuesday quarter final.

Nadal got his game over in straight sets. Federer is the one who has gotten prefential treatment over the 11 time champion.

Federer and his quarter final opponent on Tuesday Wawrinka both started their matches at same time on Sunday and both finished on Sunday. Nadal finished on Sunday as well. His quarter final opponent Nishikori started his last 16 match on Sunday nearly three and a half hours later than Nadal though at close to 7pm CET and is now severely disadvantaged for Tuesday’s quarter final having to play on Monday.

Why wasn’t Nishikori playing on court same time as Nadal yesterday? Wawrinka and Federer started their matches same time. It’s preferential treatment for Nadal from the organisers. Nishikori has been completely blackguarded.

Federer started the tournament a full day before Nadal and two days before Djokovic.

Because Wawrinka and Tsitsipas went 5 hours. Zverev started his game after Djokovic went through today.

The fantastic Dominic Thiem takes the second set against Monfils. He is now two sets up.

Zverev looks set to take the second set against Fognini to level the match up at 1 set each.

That’s a big unit of an umpire.

Absolutely incredible from Thiem.

What a fucking point. The whole stadium is in rapturous applause.
