I’m fairly sure at the beginning he was considered to be an excellent journalist but I’d say things didn’t really work out for him. It’s kind of a dying trade nowadays in a lot of ways. He’s incredibly bitter and doesn’t seem to get any joy from sport nowadays which is sad for him.
He’s descended into a farce now though. Like calling Gilroy fat is just silly for a fella who wants to be considered a reputable journalist.
How is he surviving for money with no work?
Strange one alright, desperate to shoe horn Galway in even though there’s no relevance to dublins funding. The crumbling of the empire seems to have affected his psyche.
He wrote Dara O’Se’s book which was a disaster and then the Sunday Tribune went bust.
He seems to have burnt his bridges now with pretty much everyone.
Don’t be talking about empire to an Italian. They couldn’t even get the measure of Ethiopia in a war. No wonder we had to send in Bob Paisley and a few more to liberate Rome in 1944.
They did have an empire at some time before that iirc. I’ll save your blushes by not telling you one place they successfully invaded.
